UNEXPECTED HEADLINES: Someone Is Putting Cowboy Hats on Pigeons in Las Vegas.
MEANWHILE, OVER AT VODKAPUNDIT: Florida Man Friday: Meet the MAGA-Lambo.
You won’t believe it until you see it with your own eyes.
COLORADO: Forced wolf introduction debate really about cattle.
The proposed ballot measure forcing introduction of wolves into Western Colorado has touched off another debate pitting ranchers and livestock advocates against proponents (primarily the Sierra Club and a coalition of outside environmental organizations calling themselves the Southern Rockies Wolf Restoration Project.) They argue the supposed benefits, and the dangers, of bringing in wolves. But it seems clear to me that this debate is not about wolves – it is about cattle.
This has almost nothing to do with wildlife. The canine predators are merely the latest tool in a generation-long campaign to stop ranchers from raising cattle, and Americans from eating beef.
Seems plausible. The Left does have a history, when they can’t reduce demand for something they don’t like, of going after the supply.
A GOOD GUY TO TAKE CAMPING, SO LONG AS YOU DON’T HAVE TO SHARE A TENT: Man whose deadly farts ‘can kill mosquitoes hired to create Mosquito Repellent made from his intestinal gas.’
IT’S ON! Scientists Say They’re Sick of Quantum Computing’s Hype. “A Twitter account called Quantum Bullshit Detector reflects some researchers’ angst about overhyped claims and other troubling trends.”
HUFFPO: Republican Group Hits Donald Trump With Scathing New Billboard Campaign. “A conservative group is targeting House Republicans with a digital billboard campaign that is heavily critical of President Donald Trump.”
“Conservative.”
The big names behind the group are Bill Kristol, Mona Charen, Linda Chavez, Sarah Longwell, and Andy Zwick. Or as the group’s Wikipedia page notes, “Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin calls the ads ‘devastating’ to Trump’s credibility.”
Someone’s credibility is devastated, that’s for sure.
SAY ‘TURN ON THE LIGHTS’ ONE MORE TIME, M—— F——, I DARE YOU: You can now hear Samuel L. Jackson’s voice on your Amazon Echo. “Yes, there’s an explicit option.”
ALL THAT REMAINS IS TO LEAVE: Boris Johnson After Landslide Victory: ‘Irrefutable, Irresistible, Unarguable Decision’ to Get Brexit Done.
TO BE FAIR, THAT’S WHAT LEFTISTS DO: Trump Lawyer Calls Impeachment a ‘Direct Attack Against Our Constitution.’
CHRISTIAN TOTO: Conservatives Face Moment of Truth in Culture Wars. “Will Heartland audiences make ‘No Safe Spaces,’ ‘Richard Jewell’ box office hits? Here’s why that matters.”
Good stuff from Christian as usual.
EIGHTY YEARS AGO TODAY: Battle of the River Plate.
Heavily outgunned, two British light cruisers and one heavy cruiser, under the command of Commodore Henry Harwood, basically psyched German Captain Hans Langsdorff into scuttling the pocket battleship Graf Spee and then taking his own life.
KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEF: UK Tells Its Leftist Loons to Bugger Off. “To the horror of leftists worldwide, people who don’t think like they do have once again spoken in an election. The rubes from the hinterlands got their knuckles off the ground just long enough to send the anti-Semitic Jeremy Corbyn and his Labour libs to defeat.”
Hail, Britannia. Or maybe “Hale Britannia.”
CALIFORNICATION: 5 Unsettling California Tax Rules.
Just Dealing With Californians Can Mean Taxes. This one is a shocker, even by California standards. California is sending tax bills to plenty of nonresidents who just do business with Californians. Consider gig economy workers who work remote, and many other people out there. Take the case of Blair S. Bindley, OTA Case No. 18032402 (May 30, 2019). He lived and worked in Arizona, writing screenplays that he sent to studios in California and elsewhere. Since some of his customers were located in California, the state said his business — which was just him — had to pay taxes in the Golden State.
There’s no one so greedy as a tax collector.
IT’S NOT OK TO BE WHITE: These Four Women Thought Forming an All White ‘Squad’ Was a Good Idea.
Previously: Democrats, White House announce deal on new North American trade agreement.
Forget the impeachment theatrics, which really are little more than a sideshow to keep the base riled up. Because when it comes to serious issues like trade and defense, House Democrats sure are negotiating as though they believe Trump will be around a while longer. Like, five years longer. They wouldn’t give a lame duck “everything he wanted” on anything.
Meanwhile, Charles Blow is resetting expectations lower: Impeachment in the House Is the Victory.
HAVE YOU HUGGED A FRACKER TODAY? OPEC’s plan to boost oil prices may not work.
Yesterday: Republicans are turning impeachment into a carnival – and it could cost them.
That headline didn’t age well, but then it is a whole day old.

THE CORBYNIZATION OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY CONTINUES APACE: AOC Joins the Left’s Swelling Ranks of Antisemites.
The young bartender-turned-congresscritter retweeted a Labour campaign video, and also added, “The hoarding of wealth by the few is coming at the cost of peoples’ lives. The only way we change is with a massive surge of *new* voters at the polls. UK, Vote!”
To be fair, Labour did import tons of new voters into the UK, mostly from countries with cultures hostile to Jews.
Read the whole thing, if you don’t mind me saying so myself.
