KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEF: Treatment of Ron DeSantis vs Andrew Cuomo Is Why People Should Hate the Media. “Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida, on the other hand, has been vilified by the mainstream media for a variety of reasons. His greatest sin thus far has been NOT turning into a petty tyrant and proving that giving citizens some freedom isn’t the death sentence that we’ve been told it is.”

KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEF: Finally Some Good News—Trump Is About to Flood the Economy With Deregulation. “This president has a been a breath of fresh air when it comes to regulations, gleefully chucking away hundreds of pages of them at a time. It’s really nice to see Republicans learning how to play the ‘never let a crisis go to waste’ game for once, but focusing the effort on something that’s actually good for the country, like a sweeping effort to wipe out business-crushing regulations.”

We can’t afford luxury regulations in a Wuhan Virus economy.

WELL, CNN. The COVID ‘Spike’ in Reopened Texas: CNN Gets It Wrong.

On Sunday CNN ran a segment on the spread of COVID-19 in Texas. The news channel promoted it with the jarring tweet “Texas is seeing the highest number of new coronavirus cases and deaths just two weeks after it officially reopened.” The segment spotlighted 1,448 new cases and 58 new deaths, and noted the increased movement of people in the state according to cellphone data, illustrating that the public was increasingly out and about.

While technically true, this information is horribly misleading, and to the extent CNN is trying to establish a causal connection between Texas’ reopening and the increase in coronavirus diagnoses and deaths in the Lone Star State, it is simply wrong. It is so wrong that it is difficult to give the benefit of the doubt here.

Read the whole thing. Really shameful fearmongering on CNN’s part, assuming anyone there is capable of it.

Exit Question: How long has it been since a serious person gave the benefit of any doubt to CNN?

DECOUPLING: Apple to Make New Headphones in Vietnam in Shift From China. “Apple has tapped factories in Vietnam to make its own forthcoming over-ear headphones, a new phase in its effort to diversify manufacturing away from China amid political and trade tensions between Washington and Beijing, The Information has learned. The move would be the first time Apple has used factories in Vietnam to produce an entirely new product, instead of relying on them to supplement manufacturing of an older model already produced in China.”
