WASHINGTON, DC MADE THE LIST DESPITE PRODUCING LITTLE OTHER THAN DEBT AND FRUSTRATION: The World’s 10 Richest Cities.

KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEF: Screw the Distancing—NFL Plans On Filling Stadiums This Fall. “The National Football League is either filled with optimists, really drunk people, or a functional combination of the two. An NFL spokesman indicated yesterday that the league is going with a glass-half-full approach and planning on business as usual when regular season play begins in the beginning of September.”

“IMPROVED?”: The New and Improved Tomahawk Missile Now Runs on Corn. “The new fuel blend uses feedstocks instead of petroleum in an effort to limit the military’s dependence on fossil fuels.”

The whole planet, particularly this country, is practically awash in fossil fuels.

ENDORSED: Bring Back a True Gunboat. “The Navy’s problem remains its obsession with blue-water ships and big-budget contracts instead of stepping back and rationally thinking about what is actually needed to fulfill requirements at a cost-effective level in terms of construction, use, and the risk of combat losses. The enemy of ‘good enough’ is the desire for perfection and there is no reason to spend time and money reinventing the wheel when a proven gunboat design already exists that is good enough for the Navy’s littoral combat needs. A modern version of the Fairmile D motor torpedo boat—the famous Dog Boats of the Royal Navy’s coastal forces in World War II—is what the U.S. Navy needs today.”

UPDATE (FROM GLENN): Is It Time For A Big Fleet of Small Ships?

TONY KATZ: A Virus Worse Than COVID-19. “The Times uses dead Americans as a prop to move the Narrative. Does anyone doubt this conceptual art piece on the front page of the Times isn’t saying, ‘Look! Look at all the people Trump killed’?”

What a garbage publication the NYT is.

ALLEGED DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENTIAL NOMINEE ROUNDUP: BidenWatch for May 25, 2020. “Senile Joe became Racist Joe this week, with one of the most amazingly ill-considered answers since Gerald R. Ford said Poland didn’t suffer from Soviet domination.”

Battleswarm also has some very nice Memorial Day tributes today.

KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEF: Coronapocalypse Memorial Day Edition. “This is the first Memorial Day that I’ve been in charge of the Morning Briefing and I would like to begin by honoring those American service men and women I never who have sacrificed their lives so that people like me can be free to shoot my mouth off for a living. There never really seems to be any adequate way to say or do that but I keep trying every year on Memorial Day. God bless all of them and the loved ones they left behind.”
