According to NFL.com, the league is also prepared to reach out to Colin Kaepernick to work out where the money will be spent.

KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEF: It’s Time for Trump to Really Start Going After Biden. “Trump needs seize the initiative now and start goading Biden to get back in the public eye and into a debate. One of Trump’s greatest gifts is the thing that drives old guard Republicans crazy — his ability to drive a narrative on social media. Now is the time for him to use that bully pulpit and relentlessly bait Biden and force his hand.”

MIRANDA DEVINE: A ‘Black Lives’ pander by Democrats.

With maudlin soundtrack and husky voice, the former vice president oozed empathy as he churned out empty platitudes about “racial justice” that are at odds with his personal history and the record of the Democratic Party he has represented for 47 years.

“I grew up with Catholic social doctrine which taught me that faith without works is dead,” he said, “and you will know us by what we do.”

OK, I accept the challenge.

Let us know Biden and his party by what they have done for black people in all the decades Dems have enjoyed a firm hold on their vote.

VIDEO: Here’s Why Donald Trump Can’t Wait to Debate Joe Biden.

The mask dangling unnoticed off of one of Biden’s ears is the finishing touch.

The moment I’m hoping for in the debates is after Biden spews one of his projectile word-vomit answers, Trump looks at the camera, then at Biden, then back at the camera, and says, “Can anyone tell me what this guy just said? Does he even know?”

CHARLES LIPSON: Police and Race: Hard Problems and Hard Truths.

In the midst of head-spinning talk about defunding police or abolishing them entirely, it’s important to step back and take a sober look at the debate. The racial dimension of policing is vexing because the racial dimension of American life is vexing. It is the deepest scar in our history. We treated it indecisively in forming our new nation and finally confronted it, at gruesome cost, in a great Civil War. We confronted it again a century later, after the failure of Reconstruction and decades of Jim Crow laws, during the Civil Rights Movement.

Despite those efforts and significant progress over the past half century, we never eliminated racism completely. We are facing it again today. The laws of the mid-1960s ensured de jure equality. Since then, the struggle has been to create a more equal society in practice. It’s difficult to even agree on the meaning of that term, much less achieve it. For some, equality refers to outcomes; for others, opportunities. Whatever the meaning, it must mean equal treatment by police.

MY LATEST FOR THE PJMEDIA MOTHERSHIP: ‘I Take Responsibility’ Celebrities PSA Is the Most Unintentionally Funny Thing Ever. “If celebrities ritualistically debasing themselves for the sake of a progressive cause could save the world, then the two minutes of ‘I Take Responsibility’ you’re about to see could erase all of mankind’s sins and restore us to a state of grace.”

Instead, hilarity ensues.

Nah. That was just the mask coming off, and it was never a very convincing mask.

GOOD: CBO Won’t Hide Biden’s Government Takeover of Health Care.

It became a major scandal when Philadelphia-based researcher Rich Weinstein uncovered video of Jonathan Gruber, the architect of Obamacare, saying: “This bill was written in a tortured way to make sure the CBO did not score the mandate as taxes. If CBO scored the mandate as taxes, the bill dies.”

The quote became famous but was widely misunderstood; he was not referring to the penalty vs. tax question on which Chief Justice John Roberts would later uphold the law. The issue was whether the payment for a mandatory government insurance program should be scored as tax revenue – like Social Security or Medicare premiums – or considered private sector payments. This is crucial because a program scored as taxes and spending is transparently a government takeover, with potentially trillions of dollars shifted from the private sector to government.

There’s bad news for Joe Biden’s current plan. As Biden explained: “I’d bring back the individual mandate… and here’s the deal. We’re in a situation where if you provide an option for anybody who in fact wants to buy into Medicare for All, they can buy in.”

It’s hard to see how a mandate paired with a government plan could be scored by CBO as anything but taxes and spending.

The subterfuge tells you all you need to know about the efficacy of the proposal.

KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEF: ANTIFA Deserves a Military Response. “Much of the violence we have seen in the past couple of weeks has been coordinated by the antifa crowd. I’ve been very derisive of what’s been going on but I will say that I do believe that some of the protesters were sincere and didn’t want any violence.”

Antifa members ought to be treated like the secessionists they claim to be.

OH: Primary Steele Dossier Source Remains Elusive Six Months After Scathing Watchdog Report. “The source, referred to as ‘Primary Sub-Source’ in the watchdog report, is likely key to unraveling exactly how Steele came to peddle inaccurate information regarding Donald Trump and the Trump campaign’s alleged ties to Russia. But the Justice Department, FBI, and Steele have all withheld key details about the source.”

There need to be some firings, and lots of them.

UH-HUH: Hickenlooper Blames His Ethics Violations on Republicans.

Former Colorado governor John Hickenlooper characterized his conviction on ethics violations as Republican “smear attacks” during a primary debate Tuesday night.

Hickenlooper was found guilty by the Colorado Independent Ethics Commission last Friday of twice accepting free luxury travel from business interests while he was governor. The five-member panel also voted unanimously to hold him in contempt for initially defying a subpoena to appear at the hearing.

One of those unanimous votes came from a Commission member appointed by Hickenlooper himself.
