JOANNE JACOBS: Who will be Biden’s education secretary? “Biden pledged to put a ‘quick end’ to Education Secretary Betsy DeVos’ regulations on investigating campus sexual assault. The rules require colleges to protect the due process rights of the accused.”

JONATHAN TURLEY: America should welcome review for close counts.

States used rolls that are notoriously out of date and inaccurate. Some changed rules governing signature authentication or are accused of reducing the discrimination levels for machine authentication. In Nevada, the Trump campaign alleged that thousands of votes were cast from out of state and ballots were sent to dead voters. We cannot judge the merits of these claims until we see the evidence. It is difficult to see any problems without greater access to the ballots and the records of tabulation.

Just as some of us remain skeptical of such claims of fraud, it seems as implausible that this untested form of voting was used across the country without major glitches. Officials in cities like Detroit and Philadelphia with histories of election violations said the counts of mailed ballots were almost flawless, a claim difficult to rebut without review.

We need a review of counts in critical states to resolve a crisis of faith.

Indeed.

UPDATE (FROM GLENN): Seen on Facebook: “It’s time to listen and bow to the will of the networks.”

THE TRULY UBIQUITOUS INTERNET: Starlink beta testers are impressed with the Internet speeds on the new service. “According to some early speed tests done in different locations around the US, users are getting anywhere from 100 to 203 Mbps on downlink and around 15 to 33 Mbps on uplink. Meanwhile, the latency varies between 20 to 45 milliseconds, which is pretty much in line with SpaceX estimates. Upload speeds are still lower than the expected 50 to 150 Mbps, and one user in Idaho reported that connection drops every 2 to 3 minutes in games and video calls are common.”

That’s roughly on par with what Comcast usually delivers, except it costs a bit less — and Starlink doesn’t require me to spend $10 a month on bundled cable channels I never watch, just for the privilege of buying their internet service.

KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEF: Dems Have Turned U.S. Elections Into a Third World Embarrassment. “While I was able to muster up some interest in everything leading up to Election Day because of my swing state status, everything in the two days since is practically making me want to weep for America. One would think that after 244 years and great leaps in technology that we wouldn’t actually be regressing in the way we handle our elections. Right now we’re a laughing stock that’s devolved into what looks like a Third World hellhole that’s never conducted a free election before.”

Who is this “we,” Kemosabe? Republican-run areas did just fine.

ANDREW MCCARTHY: No, Every Vote Does Not Count. “The Orwellian narrative is already being written: To call for the Constitution to be enforced is to ‘steal’ the election.”
