BIPARTISAN REASONS NOT TO DRAG KIDS INTO POLITICS: ‘Mini AOC’ ends parody videos after receiving ‘death threats,’ ‘harassment’ from the left, family says.
The 8-year-old child actor who went viral for impersonating Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-NY, is no longer going to make videos due to death threats and harassment she and her family have received.
Earlier this year, Ava Martinez, known as “Mini AOC,” brought joy to her fans with several videos poking fun at the socialist darling, collecting millions of views on social media.
However, the fun came to a screeching halt on Wednesday when Martinez’s family announced that she would no longer be impersonating Ocasio-Cortez and that all the videos created would be removed.
Meanwhile in Europe: German drivers have begun displaying ‘F*** you Greta’ bumper stickers in protest at the world’s most irritating and over-promoted teenage girl.
Greta Thunberg — with her distinctive pigtails and the thousand-yard stare of a girl who can actually see in the air all that evil “carbon” which is supposedly going to destroy the planet — has been feted across the mainstream media as a kind of latter-day Joan of Arc and even nominated as a candidate for a Nobel Prize.
At Glastonbury festival, next to the painting of Sir David Attenborough with a halo round his head, she was celebrated with a painted hardboard cutout with the legend ‘What She Said’.
It seems, though, that we may be fast approaching Peak Greta.
Already, her otherworldly qualities – bordering on the sinister – have become the subject of disrespectful memes.
Thunberg is 16, as Gregory Wrightstone wrote last month at the PJ Mothership, in an article titled, “The Education of Greta Thunberg: Naivety Meets Reality for the Teen Climate Alarmist.”
Since she first stood alone in front of the Swedish parliament last August protesting insufficient action in fighting climate change, 16-year-old Greta Thunberg has literally become the poster child for a worldwide student movement. Holding a “school strike for climate change” sign, the then 15-year-old said she was refusing to attend classes until Swedish politicians acted.
Her actions led last week to an estimated one million or more students in over 100 countries to boycott classes to prompt what they say is urgent action needed to rein in harmful climate change.
“We are facing the biggest crisis humanity has ever faced,” said Ms. Thunberg. “If your house is on fire, you don’t sit down to talk about it. I want people to panic.”
She did admit that “I am not a scientist. I don’t have the proper education.” She is quite correct in that regard. It is not just that she is blissfully ignorant of many climate facts, but what she does supposedly know is just so wrong. If she were to return to the classroom, her lessons should serve to calm her fears.
Michelle Malkin has written for years on the left’s use of “kiddie human shields” to advance their various causes, and radical environmentalism is no exception. Children as props in their videos help to tug at the heartstrings of potential viewers and ideally, help them forget that they’ve heard nearly 50 years of sandwich board-style doomsday propaganda. It’s wrong to tell children that they potentially have no future because of (pick a decade) global cooling, global warming, climate change and/or climate chaos. It’s equally wrong to do something similar to “Mini AOC,” given the rabid anger of the social media left, as her parents discovered, unfortunately, the hard way.
