LAYERS AND LAYERS OF FACT CHECKERS AND EDITORS:

As of the time of this post, the link does indeed go to a 404 page:

Even the Times’ fellow leftists at Slate are dunking on the hapless Gray Lady: New York Times Editorial Board: For President, Warren—and, Uhhhh, Also Klobuchar. A split decision is no decision at all:

The indecisiveness might have felt less grating if the Times hadn’t put so much effort into turning the endorsement into a spectacle in its own right. The promised inside look at how the Times made one of its most ostensibly important decisions of the year turned out to mean viewers spent an hour watching the paper crumble under the weight of its own self-importance. But hey, at least the ratings were probably good.

And while the Times may have offered a double endorsement, there was only one real winner tonight. Congratulations, to this guy:

There is no way any satirist can improve upon real life for its pure absurdity, to paraphrase the late Tom Wolfe.

UPDATE: Back and to the left. Back and to the left:

DON SURBER: WaPo shocked to learn Trump is the commander in chief.

Despite all the pearl-clutching over Trump’s “dopes and babies” line, he wasn’t really saying anything that Tom Ricks didn’t say in 2012. But that’s different because shut up. Quoth Ricks: “Looking back on the troubled wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, many observers are content to lay blame on the Bush administration. But inept leadership by American generals was also responsible for the failure of those wars. A culture of mediocrity has taken hold within the Army’s leadership rank—if it is not uprooted, the country’s next war is unlikely to unfold any better than the last two. . . . To a shocking degree, the Army’s leadership ranks have become populated by mediocre officers, placed in positions where they are likely to fail. Success goes unrewarded, and everything but the most extreme failure goes unpunished, creating a perverse incentive system that drives leaders toward a risk-averse middle where they are more likely to find stalemate than victory.”

The difference is, Ricks is a member of the establishment in good standing, and Trump is Orange Man Bad.

WHY ARE LEFTIST INSTITUTIONS SUCH CESSPITS OF MISOGYNY AND CORRUPTION? Grammy insiders say Deborah Dugan ousted over bombshell memo she sent to HR. “Insiders tell Page Six they suspect the Grammys fired its first-ever female boss in an attempt to silence her — after she wrote a bombshell memo alleging misconduct inside the organization, including sketchy voting practices, financial mismanagement and conflicts of interest.” I was a member for over 15 years, but let my membership lapse. Nothing that’s happened since has caused me to regret that.

ONE OF MY KNOXVILLE FRIENDS IS WORKING WITH FORENSIC TRAINING SOURCE TO RAISE MONEY WITH THESE T-SHIRTS. She writes: “This organization is pretty fascinating. The instructors that work for them are all current or retired police officers who moved up through the rankings to become crime scene investigators. They have been brought in to court as expert witnesses on several high profile cases such as the Chris Kyle American Sniper case. Just fascinating people. What I have learned is that it’s scare how much these specialized trainings are needed and how important they are to actually finding the truth. So many agencies from all over the United States want the training, but can’t get it approved into their budgets.” 100% of the proceeds will go toward training. (Bumped.)

OPEN THREAD: Ring out the weekend with style.

DANA LOESCH: A Note for Fellow Second Amendment Supporters Rallying in Virginia. “Do not be baited. Do not be provoked. You are at an extraordinary moment in history and the rest of us in states, counties, and cities across the country (all of us dealing with rights grabs like you, some at stages earlier than others) are watching you, praying for you, and depending on you. How you choose to use your time and impact your community will send shockwaves throughout the rest of the country. Do not be distracted from your good work by bad actors sent to incite, antagonize, and sabotage your efforts. Stay relentlessly focused. Speak truth and ignore every provocation tomorrow. That is not the day for it.”

It’s clear that Northam is praying for violence.

A SMALL MEASURE OF ACCOUNTABILITY: Florida Teenager Who Allegedly Lied About Sexual Assault Will Face Charges. “The girl, whose name has not been released, faces two counts of ‘false reporting of a crime to police,’ WWSB reported. The first count relates to her initial claim of sexual battery and the second refers to another claim she made about a physical assault a few days later. . . . Police determined something just wasn’t right about the girl’s story – they couldn’t find any witnesses or video of the alleged incident despite it taking place in broad daylight.”

HARSH BUT FAIR:

But if Kristol is having an identity crisis, perhaps these recent Insta-links will assist in narrowing down his ideological triangulation.
