PORTUGAL DOESN’T GET THE US, SO WHY SHOULD IRAN: Iran just doesn’t get US.  But if they got us, they might want to kill us more.  Understanding is not the same as peace, regardless of how much the left wishes it were.

ANOTHER MEMBER OF THE ZIONIST CONSPIRACY AGAINST OBAMA SPEAKS OUT: Saudi Prince Bandar: The U.S. nuclear pact with North Korea failed. The Iran deal is worse. “Writing for the London-based Arabic news Web site Elaph, Badar suggests that President Obama is knowingly making a bad deal, while President Bill Clinton had made a deal with North Korea with the best intentions and the best information he had. . . . The Saudi prince says the new Iran deal and other developments in the region have led him to conclude that a phrase first used by Henry Kissinger – ‘America’s enemies should fear America, but America’s friends should fear America more’ – is correct.”

THE CAMP OF THE SAINTS WAS JUST A NOVEL, RIGHT GUYS? RIGHT? GUYS? Millions of African migrants threaten standard of living, Philip Hammond says. “Philip Hammond, the Foreign Secretary, says ‘maurauding’ migrants around Calais pose risk to security of Channel Tunnel and that sending them to their home countries must be ‘number one’ priority.”

People who think that mass deportations are impossible need to research a little history. They’ve happened plenty of times before, and they’ll happen again if things continue along these lines.

Related: Africa’s Scramble for Europe. “If Africans were to migrate to Europe at the rate Mexicans have migrated to America since 1970, Millman notes, by 2050 a quarter of Europe’s population would be African-born. That probably won’t happen: The birthrate projections will be off, the migration patterns will be different, European countries will impose restrictions that actually succeed in keeping people out. But something significant is going to happen.”

MORE LIKE THIS, PLEASE: Hero SAS sniper saves father and eight-year-old son from being beheaded by ISIS maniac.

The brave British marksman saved the terrified eight-year-old and his father after taking out the crazed jihadi with a head shot from 1,000 metres away.

The special forces crack shot then killed two other members of the hated terror group, who were also taking part in the sick planned execution.

ISIS militants had decreed that the little boy and his father must die after branding them “infidels” because they refused to denounce their faith.

They were just seconds from death when the hero sniper intervened to stop the barbaric killing in the Syrian desert. The pair were part of the minority Shia sect of Islam which ISIS considers to be heretical.

Barbaric, savage, maniacs deserve no less.

FLASHBACK: Clinton accused of 1978 hotel rape:

Juanita Broaddrick, who now runs a nursing-home business in Arkansas, told the Wall Street Journal that Mr Clinton raped her in the Camelot Hotel in Little Rock in 1978, when he was the state attorney-general.

The newspaper reports that Mr Clinton persuaded Mrs Broaddrick to have coffee with him in her hotel room during a conference of nursing home administrators in 1978. She alleges that he then forced her on to the bed, where he held her down, bit her lips and raped her.

When it was over, Mrs Broaddrick claims, Mr Clinton told her that she should not worry because he was sterile due to a bout of childhood mumps.

Mrs Broaddrick is not directly quoted in the Journal’s account of the alleged rape but in response to Mr Clinton’s sterility claim she said: “As though that was the thing on my mind – I wasn’t thinking about pregnancy or about anything. I felt paralysed and was starting to cry.”

She added: “This is the part that always stays in my mind – the way he put on his sunglasses. Then he looked at me and said ‘You better put some ice on that’. Then he left.”

Norma Rogers, a friend of Mrs Broaddrick, told the Journal that she found the alleged victim in a state of shock. In reported speech, she is said to have alleged that Mrs Broaddrick’s lips were discoloured and swollen to twice their normal size and the crotch of her tights was torn.

“She just stayed on the bed and kept repeating ‘I can’t believe what happened’,” Mrs Rogers said.

Since it looks like the Dems are rolling out that whole “War on Women” theme again.

ABC NEWS: Bernie Sanders’ Problem With Hispanics. “Vermont’s independent Sen. Bernie Sanders has positioned himself to the left of front-runner Hillary Clinton on several key issues, ranging from climate change to minimum wage, but his recent comments on immigration are giving some activists pause.”

Like Trump, he addresses concerns that the bipartisan mainstream Ruling Class has declared unfit for discussion.

WHAT CONSERVATIVES HATE ABOUT COMMON CORE, AND WHY THEY’RE NOT ALONE:

Question: When it comes to Common Core, are conservatives concerned about the content of the curriculum, the publishing/testing monopoly it spawned, or the specter of the federal government reaching into your local classrooms to indoctrinate your children?

Answer: Yes.

PJ Media’s own Paula Bolyard, who directs the PJ Parenting page, took to the stage at RedState Gathering in Atlanta Saturday for a discussion with Red State’s Leon Wolf about the impact of Common Core, and what can be done to minimize its deleterious effects.

Bolyard says opposition to Common Core has made strange bedfellows.

SILENCE OF THE SHAMS: American feminists and ISIS sex slaves. Once you understand that feminism isn’t about equality, or even really about women, but rather about keeping women agitated and aggrieved so that they’ll (1) read women’s publications, and (2) vote Democrat, it all makes sense.

ELLIOTT ABRAMS: Obama and the ‘Amen Corner:’ With accusations of warmongering, the president feeds anti-Semitism.

This week President Obama sealed his legacy as the most divisive president in modern times, who will leave behind both worsened race relations and a set of arguments about Iran that will surely feed anti-Semitism.

That race relations have worsened under Obama is crystal clear, as even publications like The New York Times have acknowledged. A Times/CBS poll conducted in July revealed that “nearly six in 10 Americans, including heavy majorities of both whites and blacks, think race relations are generally bad, and that nearly four in 10 think the situation is getting worse. By comparison, two-thirds of Americans surveyed shortly after President Obama took office said they believed that race relations were generally good.” And Americans did link the downturn to the president: “almost half of those questioned said the Obama presidency had had no effect on bringing the races together, while about a third said it had driven them further apart.”

Think of that: a third of the American people, over a hundred million Americans, hold the president responsible for worsening race relations in the country. . . .

The basic idea is simple: to oppose the president’s Iran deal means you want war with Iran, you’re an Israeli agent, you are in the pay of Jewish donors, and you are abandoning the best interests of the United States. So Dan Pfeiffer, senior political adviser to Obama until this winter, tweeted that Senator Charles Schumer—who announced his opposition to the Iran deal last week—should not be Democratic leader in the Senate because he “wants War with Iran.”

Hope is what he promised. Hate is what he’s delivering.

Hope is what he promised. Hate is what he's delivering.

UPDATE: What You See When a Rock Gets Turned Over.

I AGREE: The Drinking Age Should Be Lowered, Fast. “For an entire class of people, it’s the Roaring Twenties all over again. It’s all part of Prohibition’s legacy and a reflection of this country’s strange attitudes toward drinking in general. The drinking age in the United States (21), adopted in 1984, is one of the highest in the world. Countries that compare in severity are only a few, including Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Cameroon, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Sri Lanka and Tajikistan. Most of the rest of the world has settled on 18 for liquor and 16 for beer and wine. In practice, most European countries have very low enforcement of even that. Somehow it works just fine for them.”

BLUE ON BLUE: BLACK LIVES MATTER PROTESTERS BLOCK SANDERS SPEECH, 2ND EVENT DRAWS CROWD OF 15,000:

Sanders’ spokesperson said they could speak after the senator, but they refused to leave the stage or allow him to speak, which drew booing and chanting from the “largely white audience,” reported the Seattle Times. “A few yelled for police to make arrests. Marissa Johnson, one of the protesters, shot back, ‘I was going to tell Bernie how racist this city is, filled with its progressives, but you did it for me,’ accusing the audience of ‘white supremacist liberalism.'”

As Jon Gabriel likes to say, “My favorite part about the Obama era is all the racial healing” – particularly, in this case, between the crowd and the protestors, all of whom are Obama’s core supporters.

Will the media do any follow-up on “white supremacist liberalism?” It sounds like a perfect topic for CNN or MSNBC to cover in depth…

RIP FRANK GIFFORD, last surviving member of the legendary ABC Monday Night Football troika alongside Howard Cosell and Don Meredith. Gifford was 84.

RELATED: Gifford’s exploits on the gridiron during professional football’s coming of age and his years as a play by play man in the broadcasting booth may not remembered all that well by some of the younger media analysts, who see him as little more than “Kathie Lee Gifford’s husband.”

HOW THE MEDIA ENABLES TRUMP’S PRESIDENTIAL BID: As Stephen Hayes writes at the Weekly Standard, “From the beginning, he’s played by different rules because the media have let him. Trump works just blocks from the headquarters of the major broadcast and cable outlets. But as he’s rolled out his Trump for President brand, he has gotten journalists to come to him. He sits for interviews in the gilded atrium of Trump Towers, a nice home field advantage and one that sets him apart from the other politicians sitting in boring studios:”

Trump has conducted frequent telephone interviews on cable networks, sometimes several times a day, and last weekend did “phoners” on two Sunday morning political shows. (Has any other candidate this cycle, in either party, been given an opportunity to do a television interview by phone?) If he were asked policy questions, the arrangement would give him an unfair advantage, with the opportunity to answer questions with a cheat sheet in front of him and Google at his fingertips. But substantive questions about the country and its problems are the exceptions in Trump’s conversations with journalists, who prefer to ask him about his latest controversial comment or seek to provoke the next one by asking him about his opponents. (Trump’s comments about Kelly didn’t provoke any follow-up questions from CNN host Don Lemon, whose interview with Trump continued for several more minutes). So the cycle continues: Trump says something outrageous that may or may not have any relevance to serving as president, he’s asked about it in a largely substance-free interview, and ratings climb—along with Trump’s name ID and poll ratings.

“Good move by [Fox News Sunday] to not let [Trump] set ground rules & hide behind a telephone,”   Ron Fournier tweeted today, asking, “Bullies are cowards. Is [Trump] afraid to go face-to-face with Chris Wallace”?

WATCHES WENT OUT, NOW THEY’RE BACK IN: I Bought a Dumb Watch to Rescue Me From My Phone. “I seriously considered a smartwatch to help me disengage with my smartphone. Yes, I thought, just glance and be done with it. What I couldn’t shake, though, was the feeling that I’d just be trading one screen for another, squintier screen.”
