I REMEMBER:

Obama never missed an opportunity to undo decades of improving race relations.

YOU GET MORE OF WHAT YOU SUBSIDIZE: Soros’ Open Society gave $80 million to pro-terror groups. “Since 2016, George Soros’s Open Society Foundations (OSF), now run with his son Alexander, has poured over $80 million into groups tied to terrorism or extremist violence. The evidence is stark: Open Society has sent millions of dollars into U.S.-based organizations that engage in ‘direct actions’ that the FBI defines as domestic terrorism. These groups include the Center for Third World Organizing and its militant partner Ruckus Society, which trained activists in property destruction and sabotage during the 2020 riots, and the Sunrise Movement, which endorsed the Antifa-linked Stop Cop City campaign, in which activists currently face over 40 domestic terrorism charges and 60 racketeering indictments. At the same time, Open Society awarded $18 million to the Movement for Black Lives, a group that co-authored a radical guide that glorifies Hamas’s October 7 massacre and instructs activists in the use of false IDs, blockades, and economic disruption.”

GOOD: Poland will shoot down objects in clear-cut airspace violations, prime minister says.

NATO member Poland will not hesitate to shoot down objects that violate its airspace and pose a threat, but will take a more cautious approach to situations that are less clear-cut, the prime minister said on Monday.

Estonia said three Russian fighter jets violated its airspace on Friday, adding to a sense among NATO leaders that Moscow is testing the alliance’s readiness and resolve, with some urging a firm response. The United Nations Security Council is due to meet on Monday to discuss the incident.

Russia said on Monday the claim its jets violated Estonian airspace was false and designed to stir up tension.

The alleged incursion over Estonia came after more than 20 Russian drones entered Polish airspace on the night of September 9-10. Poland also said on Friday two Russian fighter jets violated the safety zone of the Petrobaltic drilling platform, opens new tab in the Baltic Sea.

“We will take the decision to shoot down flying objects when they violate our territory and fly over Poland – there is absolutely no discussion about that,” Donald Tusk told a news conference.

The bully will keep pushing until punched in the nose.

IMPRESSIVE… MOST IMPRESSIVE:

Starship is primed to widen SpaceX’s lead even more, probably radically.

KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEFING: Charlie Kirk’s Memorial Was a Hope-Filled Clarion Call. “The impact that Kirk and his organization have made on younger conservatives has just gotten clear to me in the last week-and-a-half. It’s nothing short of stunning. People telling me that they’ve been crying for days. People telling me that they know people who have been crying for days. People telling me that their first experience with activism came through TPUSA and that they’re more inspired than ever.”

ANALYSIS: TRUE.

CYBERSECURITY: EU agency confirms ransomware attack behind airport disruptions.

Rafe Pilling, director of threat intelligence at British cybersecurity firm Sophos, said there have been more ransomware attempts targeting higher-profile victims because of the attention they bring, but such attacks weren’t becoming more frequent.

“Disruptive attacks are becoming more visible in Europe, but visibility doesn’t necessarily equal frequency,” he told Reuters.

“Truly large-scale, disruptive attacks that spill into the physical world remain the exception rather than the rule.”

Maybe that’s the point: High visibility attacks meant to squeeze maximum ransoms, but not so disruptive that governments get serious about going after the attackers.

FLASHBACK: The Banality of Leninism.

Historians often act like Lenin’s tyranny was a bolt from the blue: Who would have expected a bunch of socialists to be so bloodthirsty? Admirers of Lenin, in contrast, often paint him as a great innovator – at least as a strategist. A dictatorship of the proletariat run by a vanguard party of bourgeois intellectuals? Only Lenin could have conceived it. When you read 19th-century Russian literature, however, “Leninist” memes clearly predate the birth of Lenin. Contrary to many historians, Lenin’s atrocities were foreseeable. And contrary to Lenin’s admirers, his strategy of atrocity was pure cliche.

I suspect the antidote to Leninism is the even older policy of Sulla-ism.

THE NEW SPACE RACE:

That’s amazing and well-earned, though actually I’d like to see more competition.
