DISPATCHES FROM THE EDUCATION APOCALYPSE: Texas teacher put son with Covid-19 in car trunk to prevent exposure, warrant says.
Jack Posobiec responds to the above headline thusly:
BUT AN ASSUMED SENSE OF SUPERIORITY IS WHAT THEY HAVE INSTEAD OF INTELLIGENT ARGUMENTS AND SELF-RESPECT: Journalists would do themselves a huge favor if they stopped treating Republican Sen. Tom Cotton of Arkansas as a right-wing nut job and consider the possibility that he is actually smarter and more reasonable than his critics say.
This is getting to be an embarrassing habit for the press, reflexively attacking Cotton for holding positions they end up conceding or even embracing.
When Cotton suggested in 2020 that COVID-19 might have escaped a lab in Wuhan, China, members of the press scoffed, writing him off as a tinfoil right-winger.
Then, after it became increasingly likely the lab leak theory is indeed the true explanation for how the pandemic started, media simply backpedaled, pretending as if they took the theory seriously all along and never mocked or criticized Cotton. It was an embarrassing and shameful about-face.
To be fair, they’re capable of neither shame nor embarrassment.

Rule 5: Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. It’s hard to counterattack ridicule, and it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage.
Rule 6: A good tactic is one your people enjoy. “If your people aren’t having a ball doing it, there is something very wrong with the tactic.”

THEY SURE AREN’T POPULAR WITH ANYONE I TALK WITH: Airport Security Measures Are Popular, But Pointless. “The problem is that Americans way overestimate the effectiveness of the TSA and overall airport security efforts at keeping them safe from bad actors. Truthfully, the fact that they think the TSA accomplishes much of anything at all beyond making air travel a bigger pain in the ass reflects a massive disconnect between what people think is a good idea and what actually has a positive effect on the world.”

WE CAN’T AFFORD TO: Americans Aren’t Buying Biden’s Agenda. “This anxiety is bound to continue. The administration prefers blaming the surge in prices on corporations, especially in the oil industry, rather than on its own policies—like the unnecessarily extravagant $2 trillion COVID-19 relief bill that passed in January 2021 and flooded the economy with fresh cash. More spending and taxes will inevitably follow such a large government expansion, and like most other Americans, 88 percent of Biden voters think these are both important issues.”
