THE NEW SPACE RACE: Chinese rocket companies are preparing for hop tests. “The tests can be considered analogous to SpaceX’s Grasshopper experimental flights as a step towards reusable rockets.”

One suspects that a lot of SpaceX technology will find its way into competing Chinese rockets.

MY NEW YORK POST COLUMN: The Navy needs to stay focused — or we’re doomed.

UPDATE: From the comments: “Glenn.. you aren’t a law professor. You are a fighter ace in Organization Development or Industrial Psychology. Great read, there is nothing to quibble with it.”

That’s very kind. I have picked up a lot of organizational theory, and public choice economics, from teaching Administrative Law. Both are very useful.

LOOKING FOR A LAWYER IN CHATTANOOGA? My former research assistant Meredith Mochel is a terrific lawyer, and she’s teamed up with another former student, Tracy Cox, to provide a wide range of criminal and civil services.

KIRA DAVIS: “You know the election audits are over the target when Democrats are screaming about them being a waste of time. As the Arizona audits continue and audits in Georgia show significant discrepancies, the left wing politicos have dropped all semblance of rationale as they hiss and boo about ‘big lies’ and Donald Trump. . . . If there’s no there there, what’s the big deal? One would think progressives would be excited to prove wrong those who think the election was fraudulent. One would think they’d be encouraging these audits, if for no other reason than to dunk on conservatives when they are ultimately proven right. And if those progressives think that audits themselves may be corrupt, does that not reinforce the point that perhaps the American people should concerned about election integrity?”

PREDICTION: THEY’RE DOING THIS WITH POLITICAL POSTS, TOO, THEY’RE JUST NOT ADMITTING IT YET:

They’re gonna make people wish that the January 6 “insurrection” was real, and that it had succeeded, aren’t they?

AT HELEN’S PAGE: Project Manager Needed.

PANDEMIC FALLOUT: Why I’m Never Wearing A Bra Again. “For some of us, however, after a year of bra-free life, bras are the biggest of bummers. The pandemic has ushered in a sea change for previously dutiful bra-wearers, even those of us with big boobs, and we’re suddenly questioning everything.”

CALIFORNICATION: The Challenge of Economic Recovery Continues to Grow under New Regulatory Burdens and More than $2.1 Billion in New Taxes and Fees. “New net direct costs, which will exceed $2.1 billion in 2023, comprise only part of the financial burden facing Coloradans and Colorado businesses—they do not include the indirect costs of numerous new laws and regulations. While the impact of each new regulation has not been fully valued yet, efforts to comply with them will cost many individuals and businesses billions of dollars in total, likely even more than the $2.1 billion in direct costs. Though any single new regulation may not change the outcome of a firm’s decision to expand in Colorado or to relocate to our state, at some point the cumulative regulatory burden could.”

TO BE FAIR, WE’VE BEEN TOLD THAT TESTOSTERONE IS TOXIC: Namibian teens vow to fight Olympics testosterone ban. “World Athletics does not attempt to argue that Mboma and Masilingi, and other female athletes with high testosterone levels, are not women.”
