THE CINC HAS GOT YOUR BACK OR WHATEVER: White House has nothing to say on Space Force.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki seemed surprised when a reporter during her daily briefing Tuesday asked if President Biden has made any decisions regarding the U.S. Space Force.

“Wow, Space Force,” Psaki said, visibly taken by surprise by the question.

“It’s the plane of today. It is an interesting question,” she responded.

The “plane” comment is a reference to a question Psaki got during her Jan. 22 briefing on what color scheme Biden would prefer for Air Force One. She said Biden “has not spent a moment” thinking about the color scheme for the presidential airplane.

Her reaction to the Space Force question suggests Biden has probably not given much thought to the Space Force.

The country is in the very best of hands.

KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEF: Please Call 911 If You See Jen Psaki’s Last Brain Cell. “I’m sure that Jennie from the block will one day have to answer a question. Something about what color shoes her boss is wearing that day or who her favorite Beatle was. If they give her enough time to answer she may not glitch and just repeat ‘circle back’ over and over like a short circuiting Stepford wife.”

WE CAN HOPE: This Legal Hurdle Could Trip Up Biden’s Cancellation of Keystone XL Pipeline.

A lawsuit from across the northern U.S. border over the Biden administration’s halting of an oil pipeline could hang on a Supreme Court ruling against the Trump administration related to the southern border.

In his first day in office, President Joe Biden canceled construction of the Keystone XL oil pipeline, an action projected to wipe out 11,000 jobs, including 8,000 union jobs.

Biden’s move reversed President Donald Trump’s executive action in early 2017 clearing the way for construction of the 1,200-mile pipeline from Alberta, Canada, through Montana and South Dakota to Nebraska. The project already had begun in Canada.

Alberta Premier Jason Kenney threatened legal action against the Biden administration, calling cancellation of the project a “gut punch” and “insult” to Canada. . . .

A recent Supreme Court case that may provide guidance is Department of Homeland Security v. Regents of the University of California. In a 5-4 decision last June, the justices ruled that the Trump administration violated the Administrative Procedure Act by doing away with an Obama administration policy called Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA.

The key similarity is the concept of “reliance interest,” GianCarlo Canaparo, a legal fellow with The Heritage Foundation, told The Daily Signal. The phrase is mentioned several times in the high court’s opinion in the DACA case.

President Barack Obama’s executive action, which allowed illegal immigrants brought to the United States as minors to stay legally under certain circumstances, created an expectation among people in the country. Thus, if the U.S. government wanted to scrap the DACA policy, it would have to go through an administrative procedure.

This created a “reliance interest” in the policy, the majority opinion by Chief Justice John Roberts said.

TC Energy and the Canadian government likely also would have a reliance interest, said Canaparo, who has been researching potential legal avenues for the pipeline case.

Yes, but will #OrangeManBad also be a judicial principle?

THE CHATTERING CLASSES ARE TRYING TO WISH AWAY REALITY:

ON THIS DAY IN 1943, FOUR ARMY CHAPLAINS SACRIFICED THEIR OWN LIVES TO SAVE THE LIVES OF OTHERS: In case you’ve never heard of them, they’re usually referred to by their admirers as “the Four Chaplains.” They were: Lt. George Fox (Methodist minister), Lt. Alexander Goode (Reform rabbi), Lt. Clark Poling (Dutch Reformed minister), and Lt. John Washington (Roman Catholic priest).

On January 23, 1943, the SS Dorchester, which had been converted for wartime use to a troop ship, left New York harbor bound for Greenland. About 900 men, including Fox, Goode, Poling and Washington, were on board.

During the pre-dawn hours of February 3, a German torpedo hit the ship, leaving a gaping hole below the waterline and knocking out the ship’s power. In the darkness, panic ensued, which the chaplains did their best to quell. When the supply of life preservers ran out, they gave their own life preservers to the men. “It was the finest thing I have seen or hope to see this side of heaven,” one survivor later said.

The last that was seen of them, they were locked arm in arm in prayer as the Dorchester began to sink beneath the waves.

The whole thing took only about 20 minutes.

The sad part of the story is that, even with life preservers, most of the men on the Dorchester died. There weren’t enough lifeboats, and the Atlantic waters were frigid. The other ships in the small convoy rescued as many as they could. But the sinking of the Dorchester was the single worst loss of American lives in a convoy of WWII.

When I was a girl, my mother and father would always attend an annual service in honor of the Four Chaplains. A nation that fails to honor its heroes—of all kinds—is liable to have fewer of them when they’re needed.

AFTER THE LONG MENTAL HIBERNATION OF 2020: I’m starting to write again, as well as putting up the books whose rights reverted to my control.

FROM SARAH A. HOYT: Gentleman Takes a Chance.

Family! Can’t live with them and can’t eat them.
Tom Ormson, owner — with his girlfriend — of The George, a diner in downtown Goldport, Colorado is well on his way to becoming a responsible and respectable adult, despite his rough start and the fact that he turns into a dragon.
But then the unpredictable Colorado weather, the ancient leader of a dragon triad and an even more ancient shifter-enforcer combine to destroy his home, put his diner at risk and attempt to kill him.
All this, of course, has to happen while Tom’s friend, Rafiel, is trying to solve a series of murders-by-shark at the city aquarium, and Tom’s newly-reconciled father is attempting to move to Denver.
Fasten your seat belts, a wild ride is about to begin.

THE PURE EVIL OF SEX TRAFFICKING CHILDREN: It should be impossible for anybody to read this blunt and detailed column by John and Nisha Whitehead of the Rutherford Institute without being saddened and angered. Especially when you realize how widespread this evil has become, not just in America but around the world.

EQUITY IS NOT EQUALITY BEFORE THE LAW:  Biden Proclaims ‘Racial Equity’ as Goal ‘Of the Whole of Government’.

Equity, in this context is assigning outcomes based on the racial group they think you belong to. It is in fact making people who never did anything wrong pay/lose out to people whose ancestors supposedly were done wrong by.  (This is all more complex than mere skin color. For instance Kamala Harris like Barrack Obama is descended from slavers on both sides of the family, as recently as anyone in the west is.)
So, the Fraud In Chief Of The US just announced that the whole goal of government is to discriminate on the basis of race and assign winners and losers based on a distorted version of history.
Are we all clear on this?  Good. I don’t want to be this blindingly angry on my own.
