NO WAY: Univision reporter prefaces her question to Vice President Harris by saying, “for me, it’s an honor because I actually got to vote for the first time as a nationalized citizen, and I voted for you.”

“Imagine having trouble in interviews when the press treats you like this.”

But it gets stranger from there: Univision Fangirling of VP Harris at Mexico Presser, or Major Security Breach?

Given all these elements, we are faced with one of only two possible scenarios which are, by degrees of exponential magnitude, far worse than the original “Univision reporter fangirls over Kamala, says ‘I voted for you’” story:

  • Coronell’s statement is true, in which case we are talking about a MAJOR security breach and vetting failure from the Secret Service, Mexican state security, and the White House press team (led by former CNN political commentator Symone Sanders)
  • Coronell is lying, in which case (as my colleague Curtis Houck pointed out) Univision has a major journalistic scandal on their hands.

“This is a developing story with multiple angles, and we will keep you posted as they unfold,” NewsBusters’ Jorge Bonilla writes.

Can’t wait to see how it plays out.

ANDREW SULLIVAN ON IBRAM X. KENDI:

I caught a glimpse of Ibram X. Kendi’s recent appearance at the Aspen Ideas Festival, the annual woke, oxygen-deprived hajj for the left-media elites. He was asked to define racism — something you’d think he’d have thought a bit about. This was his response: “Racism is a collection of racist policies that lead to racial inequity that are substantiated by racist ideas.” He does this a lot. He repeats Yoda-stye formulae: “There is no such thing as a nonracist or race-neutral policy … If discrimination is creating equity, then it is antiracist. If discrimination is creating inequity, then it is racist.” These maxims pepper his tomes like deep thoughts in a self-help book. When he proposes specific action to counter racism, for example, he suggests: “Deploy antiracist power to compel or drive from power the unsympathetic racist policymakers in order to institute the antiracist policy.” “Always vote for the leftist” is a bit blunter.

Orwell had Kendi’s number: “The appropriate noises are coming out of his larynx, but his brain is not involved as it would be if he were choosing his words for himself. If the speech he is making is one that he is accustomed to make over and over again, he may be almost unconscious of what he is saying, as one is when one utters the responses in church. And this reduced state of consciousness, if not indispensable, is at any rate favourable to political conformity.” And that conformity is proven by the gawking, moneyed, largely white, Atlantic subscribers hanging on every one of this lightweight’s meaningless words — as if they really were in church.

Think of the “anti-racist” speakers as televangelists who’ve never cracked a bible and you won’t go far wrong.

YEP: “Remember: they want to put a pillow over your face, for disagreeing with them. It will be a rainbow pillow of love and tolerance. But still a pillow. And they will press it down and hold it there until you stop struggling.”

PEOPLE ARE ANGRY ALL OVER: President Smakron (video).

And like us, they have reason to be angry:

Macron’s Lockdown Extension Even After Reluctant Astrazeneca U-Turn.

Is France losing its war on terror?

Part of the “benefits” of the lockdowns to the global leftist “elites” is that they allowed them to tamp down rebellions that were becoming inconvenient.  Being not very bright 4th generation Marxists, none of these people who mistake themselves for the best and smartest rulers in the history of ever realized that would just make the governed angry.

In the US government is supposed to be by “consent of the governed” and if the Junta thinks they have it, they should stop sampling their own supply. But really, it’s by the consent of the governed everywhere. Violate that consent enough and the governed will get froggy.

Right now?  What was that Dylan tune?  Oh, yeah.  “You’d better learn to swim, or you’ll sink like a stone; for the times, they are achanging.”

Kakistocratic Marxists the world over: this one is for you. Come on down.

THE LEFT THINKS OF 1984 AS AN INSTRUCTION MANUAL:  The ACLU has made the name of the organization Orwellian.

As luck would have it a lot of us think of The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress as an instruction manual also. Or, since we’re facing a totalitarian leftist theocracy, maybe Revolt in 2100.

SO DID I AND MOST OF IT IS… WELL, STARTS WITH C AND RHYMES WITH WRAP:  I’ve Read That…

MOST OF WHAT YOU READ IN THE PRESS IS JUST REWRITTEN PR RELEASES: How the Public-Relations Apparatus Works. “One of the open secrets of the media ecosystem is how much coverage is shaped and orchestrated by public-relations professionals. This is especially the case when some previously unheard-of person suddenly becomes the center of a media blitz, and we are given to believe that this is an organic outpouring of attention. A recent New York Times profile of Lioness, a P.R. firm representing workplace victims — of discrimination, sexual harassment, and all manner of other bad behavior — pulls back the curtain a bit on how the game is played. Lioness may represent a virtuous cause, and it may even be that all its clients are virtuous; but the game is the same. It requires little imagination, or knowledge of recent controversies, to grasp how the same tactics have been used to craft political narratives that seem to appear out of nowhere.”

The more readily the press cooperates, the less likely that the cause is virtuous.
