#METOO WAS OVER WHEN JOE BIDEN WAS NOMINATED: Terry McAuliffe Fundraises for Virginia Dem Who Served Time for Underage Sex. “McAuliffe initially called on Morrissey to resign as a state delegate after the conviction, calling the charges ‘disturbing.’ But five years later, McAuliffe flipped and campaigned for Morrissey after he won the Democratic primary for a state senate seat. McAuliffe’s change of heart is raising questions about his political motivations—in 2019, he called on Virginia Democratic governor Ralph Northam to step down due to a blackface scandal but two years later said he was “honored” to accept Northam’s endorsement.”

GRAFT, CORRUPTION, RENT-SEEKING… THE NEW NORMAL: Oversight Members Outline ‘Pattern of Ethical Issues’ at Granholm’s Energy Department.

In a Tuesday letter to Granholm that focused on whether assistant secretary Kelly Speakes-Backman “acted inappropriately” by promoting the interests of her former employer in her official government role, the lawmakers called out the agency for ignoring complaints about ethical lapses.

“On May 12, 2021, we first requested information about another conflict of interest regarding your relationship with Proterra, Inc,” the letter states. “Your agency has failed to provide a substantive response. This lack of transparency and apparent pattern of ethical issues raises questions about the stewardship of the agency by the Biden Administration.”

The complaint the committee referenced was in regards to Granholm’s promotion of electric battery company Proterra while she still held millions of dollars in shares of the company. The agency did not produce documents requested by the committee, which is now asking for documents related to Speakes-Backman.

The next time the GOP is in power, entire departments like DOE need to be zeroed out — just like Gingrich & Co. promised (but failed) to do in the game-changing ’94 election.

JOE BIDEN COVERS ALL THE BASES: Biden Rages: ‘Confederates’ During Civil War ‘Never Breached The Capitol’ Like ‘Insurrectionists,’ Voter Integrity Laws Are ‘21st Century Jim Crow:’

“It gives me no pleasure to say this. I never thought my entire career I’d ever have to say. But, I swore an oath to you, to God, to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution. That’s an oath that forms a sacred trust, to defend Americans to all threats, both foreign and domestic,” he added, with emphasis on “domestic,” implying Republican efforts to secure elections are akin to domestic terrorism.

“The assault on free and fair elections is just such a threat. Literally. I’ve said it before. We’re facing the most significant test of our democracy since the Civil War. It’s not hyperbole, since the Civil War,” he said, turning his attention to the January 6th Capitol riot and comparing rioters to the Confederate Army. “The Confederates back then, never breached the Capitol, as insurrectionists did on January the 6th. I’m not saying this to alarm you. I’m saying this because you should be alarmed. I’m also saying this. There’s good news. It doesn’t have to be this way. It doesn’t have to be, for real. We have the names.”

Also in the speech, Biden referenced Joseph Goebbels:

Of note here is that Biden is channeling Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels by using the phrase “big lie” to disparage Republicans who have concerns about the 2020 election. Yet, despite the phrase’s murderous, anti-Semitic past, the president seems to have no problem saying it repeatedly. In doing so, he echoed CNN’s Jake Tapper and others who have also been fond of the phrase.

And Joseph Stalin as well:

Oh and speaking of big lies and accepting presidential election results: Joe Biden in 2013: Al Gore ‘was elected president.’

DON’T TRUST CHINA. CHINA IS ASSHOLE: Go Figure, China Isn’t Keeping Its Promises on Climate Change.

Way back in 2017, I jotted a quick tweet, “if your climate plan is that I give up beef or my light SUV, but you’ve got no plan to deal with this over in China . . . I’m unpersuaded.”

The folks at Vox — the publication that launched with the slogan, “the smartest minds, the toughest questions”– took issue with that perspective, and wrote that their review of China’s policies “utterly destroy the conservative argument” and concluded, “China is waging an aggressive, multi-front campaign to clean up coal before eventually phasing it out . . . China is tackling climate change with all guns blazing. The US, not China, is the laggard in this relationship.”

Here we are, four years later, and the Vox assessment has proven spectacularly wrong.

Well, Vox.

Plus:

Earlier this year, Jordan McGillis, deputy director of policy at the Institute for Energy Research, pointed out “with its March release of a new five-year plan (FYP), the 14th in its history, China has embarrassed its climate cheerleaders in the West. Beijing’s plan institutes no carbon cap, no coal phase-out, and no roadmap by which it will execute upon Xi’s words. Despite the carbon-neutral-by-2060 pledge, the FYP emphasizes the importance of coal to China’s continued development, not the emissions that come with its use.”

China’s climate promises are for purely domestic consumption — Western domestic consumption.

BIDENOMICS, TOO. And Joe is very, very old.

IT’S COME TO THIS: Bidenflation is so bad, even Wolf Blitzer noticed. “Every baby boomer knows this is bad because we came of age in the 1970s when Carter was president and inflation ate through our paychecks. 40+ years later, it’s ba-a-ack.”

KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEF: Joe Biden Is the Greatest Threat to Our Democracy Since the Civil War. “Sadly, we are saddled with a pretender who isn’t really there and is being used as a front for a cabal that’s attempting to advance the worst of all that American commie progressivism has to offer. Of course, everything that American progressivism has to offer is the worst, so that’s a problem.”
