HE IS WRONG:  Post-Truth World – Rittenhouse Case Edition.

I mean, it’s absolutely right that the left just makes things up. Where Professor Jacobson is wrong (words I never thought I’d type) is in thinking this is new, or recent. I’ve been studying this for a long time, and the left has always been post truth. Examine anything that we “know” in the last century, since mass-communication became concentrated and the left seized it almost uniformly (At least since FDR, so almost 100 years) and talk to people who were there, or read personal accounts of the time.  The unified narrative that fed from newspapers/tv/entertainment/art to the history books was Marxist-cult-narrative, with absolutely no relation to the truth.

It’s just most people never knew it. Not if they weren’t present at the event.

What we are watching now is that post-truth world breaking apart, at the big megaphone of mass-media loses monopoly.

Yes, things are going to get ugly. Yes, the leftist narrative is ever more divorced from the truth, because they sense they’re losing and they shout louder and louder.

However: remember this is what it looks like when they’re losing. They are not the majority. Heck, I doubt — looking at what they had to do to fraud themselves into power — they’re a plurality.

Be not afraid and keep on fighting.  Remember how these totalitarian models die: first very slowly, then all of a sudden.

It’s going to be rough, but in the end we win, they lose.

HOW THINGS STAND TODAY: Trump v. Biden Polled in Key States: “According to the poll, a memo of which was obtained by POLITICO, the former president led Biden in Arizona by 8 percentage points, Georgia by 3 points, Michigan by 12 points, Pennsylvania by 6 points and Wisconsin by 10 points…. On 10 different issues ranging from immigration to gun control to the economy, Trump bests Biden in the swing states, often by double digits, according to the poll….”

OPEN THREAD: No silence.

BUILD BACK BRANDON: Biden Energy Sec. Granholm admits she does not know U.S. oil consumption rate when pressed by reporter.

To be fair, the title of “energy secretary” is a bit of a misnomer when it comes to Granholm:

Nightmare Fuel: Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm sings the praises of banning gasoline in music video that should’ve been left in the ground. “It’s like they don’t understand the clothes, the shoes, the sunglasses the, the synthetic fibers are all derived from oil. And the electric [sic] used to power the camera the editing machine etc all from oil.”

● “Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm laughs when asked about Biden’s plans to bring gas prices down. ‘Ha ha ha. That is hilarious!’”

Biden’s Energy Sec. Suggests Climate Change Caused Florida Building Collapse.

Granholm’s Green Energy Millions. “On Wednesday, Granholm confirmed she earned a $1.6 million profit on her shares of Proterra amid a firestorm over her financial ties to an electric vehicle company repeatedly promoted by the Biden administration. In selling off her shares, Granholm was able to defer paying capital gains taxes on the $1.6 million sale because cabinet officials are not penalized with the tax on assets they are required to sell as a condition of joining the administration. The Biden administration is seeking to raise the capital gains tax on America’s wealthiest families.”

Granholm Taunts Americans Facing Lines at Pump Due to Attack.

LIKE CAPTAIN KIRK, I DON’T CARE IF THEY’RE GREEN-SKINNED AS LONG AS THEY’RE HOT: Scientists Say There May Be “Humans” All Over the Universe. “The core of Morris’ belief comes from the theory of convergent evolution, which claims that, as Science Focus put it, ‘random effects eventually average out so that evolution converges, tending to produce similar organisms in any given environment.”'”

ALL SOCIALISTS DO: Biden Needs an Enemy.

If Biden needs to unite voters, whom should he unite them against? He could wage war on poverty, as Lyndon B. Johnson did. He could battle division—and the forces trying to divide Americans. Or, the Boston College professor Heather Cox Richardson told me, “Biden could easily declare ‘war’ on the authoritarians threatening our democracy, much the same as Abraham Lincoln did when he pulled northerners together to stand against the slaveholders.” That is, he could spend more time trying to direct Americans’ attention to the threat posed by the Trump-directed Republican Party, which is consolidating power at the state level and turning against democracy in large numbers.

Bill Kristol, the former editor of the conservative Weekly Standard and the current head of Defending Democracy Together, is worried about the GOP’s move toward authoritarianism, but he seems skeptical that Biden can succeed at convincing the country that the danger is clear and present. “Citizens in democracies—being free and kind of happy-go-lucky, as they should be—can get a bit complacent and take their freedoms and well-being for granted,” he told me. “Historically, they sometimes only fully wake up to dangers and rise to the occasion when the external threat seems obvious and dangerous. Can they mobilize as easily against a more insidious internal threat?”

But Biden has plenty of enemies all ready:

  • Americans who want to put COVID behind them.
  • Americans who want to protect the border.
  • Newly energized terrorists.
  • Low gasoline prices.
  • Shelves full of merchandise.

Not to mention reality itself: Biden appears to read ‘end of quote’ from teleprompter during gas price inflation speech.

Anything you put on the teleprompter, Ron Trunalimunumaprzure will read!

THE FEEL-GOOD TWEET OF THE HOLIDAY SEASON! Women’s March’s profound apology for accepting this offensive and hurtful average donation amount so close to Thanksgiving belongs ‘in the Louvre.’

Flashback: Beyond the Culture of Repudiation. “In all of his political writings, [the late Roger Scruton] takes on the Left for scorning existing norms and customs, and for promoting a ‘culture of repudiation.’ The Left is ‘negative.’ It dismisses ‘every aspect of our cultural capital’ with the language of brutal invective: accusing every defender of human nature and sound tradition of ‘racism,’ ‘xenophobia,’ ‘homophobia,’ and ‘sexism.’ Like 1984’s ‘two minutes of hate,’ this language tears down, intimidates, and can never build anything humane or constructive—it is nihilistic to the core. At the same time, Scruton wants to reach out to reasonable liberals who eschew ideology and who still believe in civility and the promise of national belonging. His conservatism can discern the truth in liberalism (another Aristotelian trait) while the partisans of repudiation see half the human race as enemies.”

UPDATE: Thanksgiving: The Left Desperately Wants to Cancel the Great American Holiday.

Yet in a weekend segment for — you guessed it — what MSNBC called “The Thanksgiving history you’ve never heard,” a person called Gyasi Ross shouts from a pre-written, Howard Zinn-influenced screed:

“The truth is that pilgrims did not bring turkey, sweet potato pie or cranberries to Thanksgiving. They could not. They were broke! They were broken! Their hands were out! They were begging! They brought nothing of value. But they got fed! They got schooled! Instead of bringing stuffing and biscuits, those settlers brought genocide and violence. That genocide and violence is still on the menu! And state sponsored violence against Native and black Americans is commonplace!”

I’ve heard this before. It’s not original.

I am sure Ross knows all this information because he — a rapper and storyteller from Seattle — was in the arena 400 years ago for a first-person account.

Ross’ hateful rant reminds us that not only is dangerous revisionist history alive and well in left-wing cable news, but also, no matter the topic, progressives and their media allies will always change the subject back to their favorites: race and hating America’s founding.

The Washington Post, for example, recently informed us, “Just as Native American activists have demanded the removal of Christopher Columbus statues, they have long objected to the popular portrayal of Thanksgiving.”

This crazed essay was written by their traffic reporter, I kid you not!

Today, the Politico has an article headlined: The Democratic brand is broken. The infrastructure bill isn’t fixing it.

Neither is going full Leroy Jenkins on the culture war.

Related: The Wall Street Journal Won’t Cancel Thanksgiving Editorials. “The Wall Street Journal joins Netflix, Aaron Rodgers, Joe Rogan, Tucker Carlson, Dave Chappelle, and Dave Portnoy in the winnable fight against cancel culture. And each battle has further exposed the shallowness of the woke’s over-indexed influence.”

(Classical reference in headline; updated and bumped.)

PEPPERMINT PSAKI: The White House Manages to Double Down on Joe Biden’s Defamation of Kyle Rittenhouse.

Today, the White House was finally asked directly about their view of the matter. Fox News’ Peter Doocy (because no other “journalist” in the room would ever bring it up) asked Jen Psaki if Biden would consider apologizing for smearing Rittenhouse with false allegations of racism. Psaki’s answer was so incoherent that it left me wondering whether they actually want to be sued.

Doocy: “Would the president ever apologize to Kyle Rittenhouse” for calling him a white supremacist?

Psaki: “The president believes in condemning hatred, division, and violence. That’s exactly what was done in that video.”

Is Psaki saying that Rittenhouse is responsible for “hatred, division, and violence”? Because her comments sure sound like the White House is simply doubling down on defaming the teenager, offering fresh evidence for his lawyers to use. Mentioning that Trump is heard on the video does not change the purpose of the video, which was to paint Rittenhouse as a white supremacist.

The facts are out there on what happened that night in Kenosha last year. There was no hatred or division involved in the Rittenhouse case, and to the extent that there was violence, it was in self-defense.

Yet, instead of just taking down the temperature here by offering some kind of clarification, Psaki pours gasoline on the fire, refusing to budge an inch. What exactly is the strategy here? It would have been easy to say the president doesn’t believe Rittenhouse himself is a “white supremacist” and that the video is being taken out of context. By contrast, the White House’s position seems to be double-dog daring Rittenhouse to file suit.
