EXCUSE ME WHILE I WOKE THIS OUT! HBO Adds a Three-Minute-Plus Disclaimer to Blazing Saddles.

Related: Ridiculous trigger warning for ‘Blazing Saddles’ shows how far culture has gone off rails.

A few years ago, conservatives who pointed out worrying or silly campus adventures in speech modification and idea policing were told, “Relax, it’s just college kids. Why do you care?” Less than a decade later, Andrew Sullivan was able to write a column titled, “We all live on campus now,” and everyone knew he was exactly right.

Ridiculous, unnecessary trigger warnings are getting plastered all over everything, Realtors are afraid to use the term “master bedroom.” But HBO Max seems to think we all live in kindergarten. What kind of melonhead doesn’t realize the purpose of the slurs in “Blazing Saddles” is to make the racists look bad? We don’t need this explained to us, unless we just arrived on this planet from a faraway star system or attended Oberlin.

Better get it on Blu-Ray while you can. As John Nolte warned in 2014, “Buy a Copy Before the Left Burns Them All.”

IT WOULD BE A KICK IN THE FACE TO THE INTELLIGENCE COMMUNITY, WHICH DESERVES IT AFTER CONSPIRING AGAINST TRUMP. WHICH DOESN’T MEAN IT’S A GOOD IDEA. Trump Raises Edward Snowden Pardon Hopes 4 Years After Barack Obama Said No.

The suggestion not only raised the hopes of pro-Snowden campaigners who have long called for a reprieve, but gained support from Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky), who tweeted today that Trump should use his powers to pardon the exiled whistleblower.

“Employees of the U.S. government violated the Constitution and lied to Congress and the American people about it. Snowden exposed them,” Massie tweeted, quickly noted by Snowden himself. “This is bigger than him. If he’s punished for his service to the Constitution, there will be more violations of the Constitution, and more lies.”

According to The Post, Trump had asked his aides about Snowden in the Oval Office, saying there are “a lot of people that think that he is not being treated fairly.”

Hmm.

GOOD: USDOT Sued For Failure to Enforce Federal Law and Prevent Highway Protests. “Many truckers continue to fume about those who are staging protests along major U.S. roadways and why local, state and federal law enforcement officials aren’t doing more to prevent them. The demonstrations have led to multiple deaths and injuries as well as extended delays for motorists and truckers along those routes. A much discussed federal law known as the Hobbs Act makes it a crime punishable by up to 20 years in jail to obstruct, delay or affect commerce by robbery or extortion or threaten physical violence to any person engaged in interstate commerce. The SBTC is now suing the USDOT for not enforcing the Hobbs Act.”
