THANKS, AOC! House Democrats Are the Biggest Losers of 2020 Election. “The blame assignment among the Democrats for severely under-performing last week has been directed at the young ‘Squad’ progressives. You know, the loud ones the media fawns over all the time. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her crew may not have the numbers to be in complete control just yet, but they are definitely louder than anyone in their party. The friction between the Squad and the relatively less insane Democrats is growing daily now.”

I still say that getting AOC and the rest of the “Squad” elected was Roger Stone’s finest political dirty trick.

KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEF: House Democrats Are the Biggest Losers of 2020 Election. “It’s quite rich that Tlaib is claiming that the Democrats are trying to silence her and her progressive gal pals, as that’s the thing that House leadership has most failed at doing when it comes to them. Pelosi probably crawls into her box of Franzia every night just trying to get away from the sound of their voices.”

MAYBE BECAUSE HE MADE PEACE, INSTEAD OF WAR, IN THE MIDDLE EAST? A third of Muslim voters backed Trump. Why?

But don’t worry, the Democrats plan to return us to the policies of the past administration.

MISTER WE COULD USE SOME MEN LIKE GROVER CLEVELAND AGAIN: It’s on: 2024 run is Trump’s backup plan.

I believe that I called this first:

Trump was big on the national stage long before he was president. Why would he go away after the election is over? He’ll still have tens of millions of (probably angry) followers, deep pockets and a huge megaphone.

There has already been some talk of Trump starting his own television network to rival Fox News, and/or his own social media platform — the latter made more plausible by the heavy censorious hands of those running Twitter and Facebook — and I suspect that Trump would regard a 2020 loss as a setback, not a defeat. Grover Cleveland came back to win a second term after losing the White House, Trump might reason. Why not me? He’ll probably hold campaign-style rallies around the country starting right after the election.

DAVID HARSANYI COMES OUT Against ‘Unity.’ “What ‘unity’ really means, of course, is capitulation. America is once again being subjected to the inane brand of pseudo-patriotic sloganeering we saw during the Obama years. Now, as then, the media will pretend that the moral fabric of the nation must be mended after Republican rule. It’s pretty transparent. When Democrats win the presidency, we are treated to solemn calls for national restoration and political harmony, and to the expectation that, for the good of the nation, the opposition will embrace decorum and pass legislation they oppose. When Republicans win elections, grown women put on knitted hats depicting their reproductive organs and stomp around Washington protesting, all to a hero’s welcome.”

BUT YOU WOULDN’T KNOW IT, BECAUSE OUR POLITICAL/MEDIA/ACADEMIC CLASS IS BATSHIT CRAZY: The American public is surprisingly conservative: For the most part, the political mainstream is still reasonable, moderate and sane.

As Democrats’ colossal collective sigh of relief drives wind turbines even over in Britain, let’s not lose sight of the big story. However welcome, Joe Biden’s win was supposedly a dead cert. Even conservative commentators like Andrew Sullivan were hoping for a landslide. The real big story is that Donald Trump came within about 73,000 votes of winning the Electoral College. Democrats have celebrated the fact that their man got more votes than any other presidential candidate in history. But who got the second largest number of votes in history? Donald Trump. Of all people. And a 77 million vs 72 million popular vote gap is hardly yawning. Had a Libertarian candidate not ‘stolen’ votes from Trump in key swing states, he’d have sailed across the finish line with electoral votes to spare.

Much like the UK’s general election last year, America’s this year revealed a public that’s surprisingly conservative, even among minorities. Remember, too, that during the primaries Biden was a rare moderate who emerged from a crowd of wannabes who leaned hard left. (In hindsight, Trump would have hammered Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren.) Even Democratic voters, then, prefer a centrist.

BECAUSE THEY CAN: Why Twitter Won’t Let People Share Sworn Court Documents Alleging Voter Fraud.

These people put their names and necks on the line in coming forward in our charged political environment. A court will now determine whether their claims are sufficient to merit adjudication.

Twitter, on the other hand, is in no position to do so. Yet after my tweet started circulating widely, suddenly the purported non-publisher stepped in and made its own ruling: “This claim about election fraud is disputed.”

It slapped this flag on the tweet. Retweets meet a warning. One can now only share the tweet by adding text responding to it.

The Internet: “Information wants to be free.”

Social Media: “Information is what we say it is.”

CHRIS RUFO: Riots and Looting: How the Democratic Party and its allies used the threat of violence as a campaign tactic.

The rest of us shouldn’t move on so easily. Riot preparations are unprecedented in modern American electoral history. The media have quickly moved to establish a new narrative—the “return to normalcy” under a presumptive Biden presidency—and would prefer to relegate the much-discussed pre-election tensions to the memory hole.

The threat of election violence should be understood in the context of the months-long rioting that began with the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis. Despite a handful of incidents involving right-wing agitators, most urban unrest has been driven by the activist Left, loosely organized under the banners of Antifa and Black Lives Matter. This reality has been exhaustively documented in newspaper reporting, activist livestreams, and police-blotter mugshots.

While the national media can afford to peddle a largely imaginary narrative about “white supremacist violence,” business owners in New York, Minneapolis, and Portland have no illusions about where the real threats come from: they’ve spent the past five months defending themselves against vandalism, looting, and robbery from black-bloc rioters and criminal opportunists. Across the country, many downtown stores put up signs declaring their allegiance to Black Lives Matter, implicitly saying: “we’re on your team, please don’t burn us down.”

In political terms, the activist Left’s campaign of violent protest provided a convenient foil for the Biden campaign. Biden adopted the high-minded language of racial justice, promising to combat “systemic racism,” while benefiting from the implicit threat of violence from far-left shock troops on the ground. It’s the same logic of extortion that any thug would use—vote for us and things will return to normal; vote for Trump and your cities will burn.

Yes, and they were pretty open about it.
