MEANWHILE, OVER AT VODKAPUNDIT: Bloomberg Posts Funny Video, Breaks the Internet. “Just so you’re sure where I stand on Bloomberg, I would rather gnaw off my own forehead than see him become president. (What I would to myself to avoid seeing a Bernie Sanders presidency is so much worse, so much graphically worse, that I won’t even hint at what it might be.). So whatever else I’m about to write, please don’t mistake any of it as a defense of Bloomberg’s candidacy. But I know an enjoyably silly video when I see one, and this is one.”

Video and much mockery at the link.

IT’S MORNING AGAIN IN AMERICA: The Economic Report of the President is out today (link is to PDF). Two really important findings: the booming economy isn’t simply a straight-line continuation of the Obama economy and the boom is also benefiting groups that have historically been excluded from economic benefit.

Another personally-gratifying finding is that deregulation will save American households $3,100 per household per annum over 5-10 years. As many of these deregulatory reforms are ones we’ve been campaigning for over the past decade or so at CEI, it’s wonderful to see the benefits being realized.

CALL ME CYNICAL, BUT I FEEL LIKE “FOOD INSECURITY” IS A TERM THAT WAS INVENTED ONCE IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO PLAUSIBLY ARGUE THAT PEOPLE WERE ACTUALLY GOING HUNGRY: Pro/Con: Is Food Insecurity on Campus a Problem?

Earlier: “Food desert” research is bogus. Plus: “‘Knoxville’s Federally-Designated ‘Food Deserts’ Include Super Walmart, Sam’s Club, Kroger. Plus a couple of tasty oriental supermarkets.’ And a Trader Joe’s.”

And as I have noted, “if you want minority neighborhoods to have more farmer’s markets, you’re just promoting white privilege, so shut up, racist.”

INTENSIVE TESTING to develop better jackets and outdoor clothing. “The chamber needs just two hours to go between its maximum temperature (122°F) and its minimum (–58°F, wind chill –85°F, in full blizzard conditions), although it uses about two thirds of the entire building’s power capacity to make this drastic temperature change.”

BLOOMBERG ISN’T BEATEN:

The truth is, Bloomberg is in the Democratic nomination race for as long as he wants to be. The longer he stays in the race, the greater the amount of money he’ll spread around. The more he spends, the more the party managers and the senators and the governors and, though they’re far too high-minded to admit it, the media will come to see his candidacy as a fact that’s going to go the distance, and a reality to which the smart money should accommodate itself in case Bloomberg’s candidacy becomes a payday.

Bloomberg understands the lessons of 2016 because, like Donald Trump, he understood them long before and was prepared to act accordingly. Trump and Bloomberg know what the rest of the Democratic field know but, with the exception of Bernie Sanders, lack the integrity to say. The politicians of America are for sale to their highest donor.

That’s from Dominic Green at Spectator USA. And William Jacobson of Legal Insurrection agrees: “I’m not in agreement that he is done as a candidate, assuming he’s still willing to spend an additional half-billion dollars on advertising, paying social media ‘influencers’ to hype him, and buying up Democrat policitians and media. Some multiple of the number of people who saw the debate will see his advertisements, and most important, Bloomberg isn’t on a ballot until Super Tuesday. Between now and then, one or more candidates will be damaged by low showings in Nevada and South Carolina.”

#METOO DESCENDS INTO SELF-PARODY: Stephanopoulos Raves Over ‘Resilient’ Disgraced Democrat Katie Hill.

That’s pretty much to be expected from Bill Clinton’s flack, and the network that worked to get an alleged Jeffrey Epstein whistleblower fired — from another TV network.

Flashback to Joe Cunningham at Red State last October, after they exposed Hill for being “a person in power who used that power for sexual satisfaction. Because of the nature of the allegations, even the House Ethics Committee is looking into the alleged affair with a congressional staffer – a huge no-no in Congress.” Or as Ann Althouse wrote at the time, “She had sex with a staffer. Nancy gave her the boot. Media narrative: Vast Right Wing Conspiracy!”
