PAUL MIRENGOFF: Less than full disclosure from the New York Times. “Given the role of Bauer’s law firm in ginning up the collusion narrative, the Times should not have run an op-ed by Bauer about the Mueller investigation and where things stand in light of the collapse of the narrative that led to it. If the Times was going to run such an op-ed, it should have disclosed Bauer’s affiliation with Perkins Coie.”

HERE’S THE INSIDE STORY OF THE PLOT TO TAKE DOWN TRUMP: The Epoch Times’ Jeff Carlson has done great investigative journalism in documenting the roots of the Obama administration’s clandestine campaign against The Donald and to protect Hillary.

Did you know 22 top officials have been fired, resigned or demoted so far for their actions in the campaign and that’s even before Sen. Lindsay Graham’s Senate Judiciary Committee mounts a real investigation and before Attorney General Bill Barr does the same thing from inside the Department of Justice.

SHOULD HILL STAFF BE PAID MORE? Massachusetts Democrat Katherine Clark believes they should, especially if Congress wants to do better oversight of the executive branch and pull back powers it has given up in recent decades.

I worked on the Hill early in my career and the pay was low and hours were long then, too, so not much has changed since then. The irony is the same Congress that pays its own staff so poorly has made federal civil service pay and benefits much better than comparable jobs in the private sector.

KIM FOXX’S RECUSAL FROM THE SMOLLETT CASE: NOT A RECUSAL-RECUSAL.

Related: “How did hate-crime huckster Jussie Smollett get away with it? All crooked roads in Chicago lead back to the Obamas.”

So, why did former Obama crony Rahm Emanuel claim that Chicago is sending Smollett a bill for the police investigation? “Seriously, while his outrage is understandable, it is … strange for a Democratic politician to behave this way. Emanuel may be retiring as mayor but he has a past and potentially a future in national politics, and being The Policeman’s Best Friend isn’t the strongest brand for a Dem hoping to return to national relevance. What’s his angle?”

HEATHER MAC DONALD ON “WHEN PROSECUTORIAL DISCRETION IS WOKE”:  “Throwing out charges against Jussie Smollett is consistent with the social-justice narrative that a hate hoax can be true in a deeper sense.”
