THE SPIRIT OF GIVING: Donor covers multiple adoption fees for animals at HSPPR in need of a forever home.

Tracy Dunson reached out to 11 News on Thursday after the read the post about Bob the dog. Bob was going to be raffled out for adoption after he was reportedly thrown against a car by a suspect authorities believe was high on meth at the time. The winner of the raffle would get Bob with an adoption fee of $400 covering a lot of things from shots to getting neutered. Tracy wanted to cover the adoption fees. She didn’t want any credit for the good deed, but with her permission, we wanted to share her full name.

11 News got Tracy in touch with the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (HSPPR), which was caring for Bob before he was adopted out on Friday. The shelter worked with Tracy and accepted the $400 to cover fees for other pets in need of a forever home!

Two of the dogs are still available for adoption, if you’re in the Colorado Springs area.

KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEF: Bill de Blasio’s New York Is Rapidly Becoming a Dangerous Hellhole. “Leftists are falling all over themselves to blame Trump and “Trump’s America” (code for “You Freakin’ Hicks”) for the rise in violence from New York’s anti-Semites. The reality remains that it’s all happening in an exceedingly liberal city that is being run by a commie they elected to a second term.”

FLIP, MEET FLOP: ‘I would obey any subpoena’: Joe Biden now says.

Biden told the Des Moines Register’s editorial board Friday he would not comply with a Senate subpoena during President Donald Trump’s impeachment trial in the Senate. It confirmed a statement he made in an interview with NPR earlier in the month.

He began the day Saturday clarifying those remarks on Twitter before making appearances in several Iowa towns.

A “clarifying” about-face, to be sure.

VICTOR DAVIS HANSON: The Left, far better than the NeverTrump Right, grasped that Trump is succeeding, and that it has little traction in demanding economic, energy, immigration, trade, and regulatory alternatives.

We won’t know to what degree Trump won his battles against a now hard-leftist Democratic Party, the NeverTrump Right, the media, the academic and cultural elite, Silicon Valley, Hollywood, and the Washington deep state until he finishes his first term. In 2020 the people will decide whether such risks were worth taking. But the idea that Trump has “failed,” when the economy is booming, the United States is energy independent, the border is becoming a border again, China is on notice that the past 30 years of appeasement are over, the military is far stronger, and U.S. foreign policy is being radically recalibrated is absolutely absurd.

Impeachment was never about Trump’s failures, but about fears of his perceived successes.

The Left, far better than the NeverTrump Right, grasped that Trump is succeeding, and that it has little traction in demanding economic, energy, immigration, trade, and regulatory alternatives. Its lunatic multi-trillion-dollar proposals ensure that it cannot attack Trump on the deficit where he is weakest.

As a result, the Left rightly concluded that its only hope to save the progressive agenda is to destroy Trump before the people can vote on his agenda, which they rightly fear is succeeding.

Indeed.

JEWS ARE NO LONGER UNDER THE PROTECTION OF THE MEDIA APPARAT, SO WHAT HAPPENS TO THEM DOESN’T MATTER ANYMORE: As the leading targets of hate crimes, Jews are routinely being attacked in the streets of New York City. So why is no one acting like it’s a big deal? And that goes double for orthodox Jews, who often vote Republican.

Related: Selective Outrage:

Over the past few weeks, Orthodox Jews in the New York area have been targeted in a series of violent attacks. Yet the reaction has been muffled, including from people—especially but not exclusively Jews—who one would expect to be up in arms. The reaction is about what you’d expect for unpleasant graffiti-writing or anti-Semitic name-calling. It is certainly not what I would have expected in response to a wave of hate crimes, including attacks with guns and machetes, that have left people dead and in critical condition.

Why the comparatively mild response? For many American Jews, the answer is that these aren’t “our” kind of Jews—and the attackers aren’t motivated by the kind of anti-Semitism we most want to talk about.

Most of the piece is dreck — this is Ben Wittes, so he has to blame phantom anti-semitism from Trump and Giuliani somehow — but he’s right about this.

VICTORY GIRLS: Media Year-in-Review: The Fail is Real. “As 2019 draws to a close, we would like to remind you all that the media and its unhinged crusade against President Trump reached peak stupid this year.” Oh, I’m not so sure they’ve peaked yet.

JUST HOURS AFTER AN ANTI-SEMITIC STABBING SPREE, NBC’S CHUCK TODD DECIDES TO TRASH THE BIBLE. “It’s been said before, but this is why Trump won. The beltway elitist sneering at people who just want to live their lives and worship God how they want turns off vast swaths in the middle of the country. This garbage may play in Brooklyn, but people elsewhere hate it. For Todd to do this segment while Orthodox Jews are still lying in hospital beds with stab wounds is just disgusting. Trump has broken these people and one day I think they are going to regret how absolutely ridiculous they became in response to his presidency.”

INSTITUTIONAL CORRUPTION: Two Possibilities in Trump Wiretapping, and Neither Is Good.

Based on what we are told by the I.G., there are only two possible conclusions that can be reached regarding the official conduct of those responsible for infringing on Carter Pages Constitutional freedoms:

The first is that the hand selected team of investigators, attorneys, and Senior Executive Service officials with decades of law enforcement, administrative, and judicial experience were abject failures at a task that they were hired to perform. Speaking from personal experience, in FBI, DEA, and state and local wire tap investigations, the slightest omissions, misstatements, and clerical errors are routinely identified and corrected by the street agents and line prosecutors who do these investigations for a living. To believe that a “varsity level” team, with unlimited time, support, and resources, somehow inadvertently overlooked seventeen major omissions, misstatements, and/or outright falsehoods, is simply not believable.

The second possibility is that nearly everyone who significantly participated in obtaining FISA coverage on Page knowingly and deliberately operated outside the law to one degree or another. The reasons behind the decision to do so are irrelevant. The particulars regarding the seventeen I.G. findings are startling, taken individually. It’s difficult to see how any of the individual omissions or misstatements could have happened accidentally. Viewed collectively, the apparent intentionality is nearly impossible to reconcile as anything but corruption.

In light of the I.G findings, the presiding FISA court judge seems to have come down on the side of intentional abuse.

But not hard enough. People need to do jail time for this.

ANALYSIS: TRUE. We Can No Longer Ignore The Attacks On Jews In New York. “It has frankly been astounding how little attention attacks on Jews in the New York City area have received. If any other minority group were subject to such abuse, it would be a leading national story. Why have these attacks been swept under the carpet? The clearest answer seems to be that the news media and our political leadership are uncomfortable with the fact that many of these attacks, including last night’s, were perpetrated by black people.”

People who won’t be held accountable will behave as though they won’t be held accountable.

ICYMI: KAROL MARKOWICZ: How liberals are allowing anti-Semitism to flourish.

Mayor de Blasio released his usual by-the-numbers statement. “Hate doesn’t have a home in our city,” he tweeted. But hate does have a home here, and it has found it while Hizzoner has mostly looked away.

The mayor added: “In light of recent anti-Semitic attacks, the NYPD will increase their presence in Borough Park, Crown Heights and Williamsburg.” But the recent attacks have spread to Midtown Manhattan and Gravesend, Brooklyn. The problem has gotten worse while inaction paralyzed the mayor.

I first wrote about the uptick in May. The reason the city’s liberal political class was ignoring it, I argued, is that the criminals don’t fit their picture of Evil Bigots. They aren’t, for the most part, MAGA-hat wearing white guys with tiki torches. In fact, many of the attackers are people of color, as investigative reporting by Tablet’s Armin Rosen and others has shown.

Imagine if they were white nationalists. How much faster would the mayor and other city leaders have taken action?

Indeed.

DON SURBER: “His name is Eric Ciaramella. It is not a journalist’s job to hide information, therefore these organizations are not journalists but rather the public relations team for the would-be fascists in the federal government.”

IT’S ALMOST AS IF ACADEMIA IS A PRIESTHOOD FOR THE LEFTIST RELIGION: Jonathan Turley: Testifying for Republicans should not be a sin for academics. “Under the Ninth Commandment, you are only guilty if you give false evidence against your neighbor. Under the Eleventh Commandment, it does not matter if your testimony is true or false. A law-fearing academic must not give any testimony for Republicans.”

Weird how the reputation of academia has been sliding so much lately.

Plus: “So, for any academic tempted to testify for Republicans in an impeachment proceeding, I can only caution that Romans 12:19 may say that ‘vengeance is mine … sayeth the Lord’ — but judgment will be more immediate for anyone who strays from the chosen professorial path.” The angry sentiments of small-minded people — which describes a plurality of the academy today — are not worth worrying about. You should be more worried if those sanctimonious pecksniffs are cheering you.
