HOW ABOUT MEDICARE FOR NONE? HOW ABOUT ALLOWING PRIVATE CHARITIES TO PAY FOR THE CARE OF THOSE WHO TRULY NEED IT. HOW ABOUT GETTING THE GOVERNMENT’S MITTENS OFF OUR HEALTH CARE COMPLETELY? TO QUOTE OCCASIONAL CORTEX: HOW’S ABOUT THAT?  Medicare for All – Déjà vu the Worst of ObamaCare.

FORBIDDING WORDS, FORBIDDING THOUGHTS, TRYING TO CONTROL HOW OTHER PEOPLE THINK, LET ALONE WHAT THEY THINK… THE LEFT THINKS THAT 1984 WAS AN INSTRUCTION MANUAL. I SPIT IN THE FACE OF BIG BROTHER LEFTY:  Changing Vocabulary, Fascist Thought.

THE UN IS AN IDEA WHOSE TIME HAS PASSED.  IT IT WAS INDEED EVER A GOOD IDEA:  But Israel is Evil! Didn’t You Get the Memo?

Allowing kleptocracies, apocalyptic theocracies and totalitarian regimes to sit in judgement and have any power over world affairs might always have been as crazy as it sounds.

COLLUSION: Former Google Engineer Says Google Will Try to Prevent Trump’s Reelection. “After the 2016 election, Google’s then-head of multicultural marketing bragged about attempting to boost Latino turnout, hoping it would help Hillary Clinton. Robert Epstein, a Ph.D. psychologist who studies search engine manipulation effects, found that Google’s bias can explain Clinton’s popular vote margin of victory. A Project Veritas video showed that Google’s ‘fairness’ project is intended to prevent another 2016. Last month, a Google engineer said the company’s search results are intentionally biased against Trump.”

OUTWAITING TRUMP WON’T WORK, BECAUSE TRUMP IS THE SYMPTOM, NOT THE DISEASE: Richard Fernandez: The End Of Normal. “Where Applebaum is correct is predicting that things will never go back to normal. They can’t because it was unsustainable.”

Plus: “What no one wants to remember is that Russian collusion, if it happened at all, happened under Obama. . . . In reality the good old days when ISIS ruled the Middle East, Russia could invade the Ukraine, China steal the OPM data and the South China Sea and kill the entire CIA network in the Middle Kingdom were never that good. Neither Trump nor Brexit nor the Democratic party left wing sprang out of thin air. They sprouted from a crisis.”

CHANGE: Meet the people working to kick Chicago out of Illinois.

Over the past two years, the movement to divide the state of Illinois into two states — Cook County in one, the other 101 counties in the other — has been gaining support. In February, as Gov. J.B. Pritzker was pursuing an agenda for Illinois that included new tax and abortion policies, Halbrook refiled a resolution in the state legislature, HR 101, in which he and six co-sponsors asked the U.S. Congress to recognize Chicago as the 51st state. “I hear it a lot from my constituents, that we need to be separate from Chicago,” Halbrook says. “I thought yep, this is what we need to do.”

The resolution, which could be dismissed as simple political maneuvering — plays big at home, but has scant chance of seeing daylight in the legislature — is also backed by several grassroots groups agitating for separation. One of them, Illinois Separation, founded by Collin Cliburn, of Athens, Ill., has 24,000 followers on Facebook, and growing. Cliburn is also holding events at venues from wineries and gun shops to community centers around the state through August and September to capitalize on the cause’s momentum.

If it happens, it will be as part of a deal for a federal bailout after Illinois goes broke.

Plus: “The New Illinoisans have company in the state separation business: both New York and California are currently facing their own state split movements.” Also Oregon and Washington.

CHRISTIAN TOTO: Three Entertainment Stories the Media Won’t Touch — including:

Rep. Ilhan Omar retweeted a gross message from far-left actor Tom Arnold. The former Roseanne star’s Tweet mocked Sen. Rand Paul for being attacked by his neighbor. The incident left him hospitalized with six broken ribs.

The Omar connection makes this a straight news story. The Arnold angle? Now, it’s a Hollywood item. So did any Hollywood site report on it? TheWrap.com? Deadline.com? Variety? The Hollywood Reporter?

Of course not. It reflects poorly on Omar, and so entertainment scribes chose not to share it.

To their credit, both Mediaite.com and Newsweek covered the Omar Tweet. They’re the exceptions proving the rule anew.

Liberal media bias involves more than skewering stories for the Left’s benefit. It’s avoiding stories that don’t promote the progressive agenda.

As always:

PUNCH BACK TWICE AS HARD: University of Florida Settles Lawsuit With Conservative Student Group.

The University of Florida (UF) has agreed to change a campus policy and pay $66,000 to the school’s Young Americans for Freedom (YAF) chapter on campus as part of a settlement with the student organization.

YAF sued the school in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida last December, alleging the school violated students’ First and 14th Amendment rights. “The old policy unfairly taxed conservative students to underwrite the expression of leftist speakers on campus,” YAF spokesman Spencer Brown wrote in a statement released Thursday.

UF had required all students to pay an annual activity fee, yet failed to give student groups equal access to the funds. Some campus groups automatically received annual money from this fund and could use it to bring speakers to campus, whereas others had to petition the school prior for funds prior to specific events. UF also gave the student government discretion to approve and deny funding, and YAF argued the body was not objective when deciding which groups to fund.

Punch back twice as hard, as a famous president once said.
