THAT’S DISGRACEFUL!: Attention Southern Californians: On Friday, January 11^th and Saturday, January 12^th, the National Association of Scholars is sponsoring a conference entitled “Disgrace: Shame, Punishment and Redemption in American Higher Education” at Chapman University in Orange, California. The theme of the conference is as follows:

At this conference, the National Association of Scholars intends to discuss “disgrace” in two ways: disgrace as a tactic of the progressive left, and the real disgrace that falls on colleges and universities that countenance such tactics. These tactics include attempting to destroy people through false accusation loudly repeated, and to shame people into resignation while using success at this to intimidate everyone else into silent, self-censoring conformity.

The Keynote Speaker will be by Heather Mac Donald. Other speakers include Peter Wood, Jay Nordlinger, John Tooby, Daniel Sznycer, Darel E. Paul, Edward Erwin, John Beahrs, James E. So [Jamal] Khashoggi was railing against one set of authoritarians…with the research assistance and “drafting” and “shaping” of another set. This doesn’t make his ruthless murder any less heinous. But it ought to curtail all the “Free Thinker Just Bearing Witness” rubbish.

The Post claims they were not aware of this little non-independent arrangement. They exploited his death to underline their Democracy Dies In Darkness promotional campaigns. They ran a full-page ad in December with Khashoggi’s picture with a candle in front of it and the words “A life is gone. The principles of free expression endure. The Washington Post.” So now they’ve been made aware…and nothing changes.

There’s nothing like appropriating this victim. In reality, Khashoggi wrote 19 pieces for the Post website from September 2017 to September 2018. They published him once in the actual newspaper before he died. They weren’t that passionately impressed with his opinions before he was killed.

As revealed by the new study, published in the journal Optica, groups of small satellites the size of milk cartons, when arranged in a ring shape, can focus light onto another imaging satellite, producing images rivaling those captured by large telescopes and their full-frame, lens-based or concave mirror systems.

“Several previous assumptions about long-range photography were incorrect,” Bulbul said. “We found that you only need a small part of a telescope lens to obtain quality images.”

Researchers were able to capture high-resolution images using only a tiny fraction of a full lens on each nano-satellite model.
