MICHAEL GRAHAM: Physicians, heal thy hate. “That’s right: Melania Trump literally came to Boston to give hugs to sick babies, and progressives still protested. Doctors, nurses and medical professionals. At what point do your politics pollute your mind so much that you can’t see how wrong it is to bring your hate to a hospital? Protesting the president? I get that. Protesting a cabinet secretary like HHS’s Alex Azar, who was at BMC yesterday, too? Sure. Go for it. But the first lady? While she visits drug-addicted infants in the neonatal ward? What’s next — pushing little old ladies wearing MAGA hats into oncoming traffic?”

Not an elderly lady, but still: “On Friday, anti-Trump protesters became violent outside the rally venue for President Donald Trump in Minneapolis, assaulting at least one female Trump supporter walking out of the event.”

OPEN THREAD. Comment loud, comment proud.

MONICA SHOWALTER: Message from Virginia: Blue states emerge from expanding federal governments. “Virginia can now look forward to a solid-blue state with a Democratic governor, the one who still hasn’t told us if he was the man in the Klan robes or the man in blackface in his school picture, along with a two-house, one-party Democratic state Legislature. And with that, it can look forward to a California model of governance — with soaring crime, soaring fecal matter on the streets, abundant needles, crooks out of jail, gun restrictions for the law-abiding, tax hikes, greenie boondoggles, corruption, soaring homelessness, drug addiction, and illegal immigration. They might even get the blackouts going if they act fast enough — and sure enough, they claim they do want to act fast.”

MICKEY KAUS: Of course it matters who the Whistleblower is. “But what if the WB is a vehement Ukraine hawk, with strong ties to Joe Biden and Democrats? Let’s just say — hypothetically! — it’s the latter.”

HACKS GONNA HACK.

HMM: Senate president: Kentucky governor’s race could be decided by state legislature.

Kentucky Senate President Robert Stivers threw another wrench into the state’s razor-thin gubernatorial outcome late Tuesday night, saying that the legislature could decide the race.

Stivers’ comments came shortly after Gov. Matt Bevin refused to concede to Attorney General Andy Beshear, who led by roughly 5,100 votes when all the precincts were counted.

“There’s less than one-half of 1%, as I understand, separating the governor and the attorney general,” Stivers said. “We will follow the letter of the law and what various processes determine.”

Stivers, R-Manchester, said based on his staff’s research, the decision could come before the Republican-controlled state legislature.

Under state law, Bevin has 30 days to formally contest the outcome once it is certified by the State Board of Elections. Candidates typically ask for a re-canvass of voting machines and a recount first.

The last contested governor’s race was the 1899 election of Democrat William Goebel.

Stivers said he thought Bevin’s speech declining to concede to Beshear was “appropriate.” He said believes most of the votes that went to Libertarian John Hicks, who received about 2% of the total vote, would have gone to Bevin and made him the clear winner.

A candidate can file a formal election contest with the state legislature, but it must be filed within 30 days of the last action by the state board of elections. The state board is scheduled to certify the results of the race for governor on Nov. 25 this year.

Well, stay tuned. Democrats will scream if that happens, but of course it’s exactly what they would do if things were reversed.

ABC NEWS EXECUTIVES BELIEVE THEY HAVE IDENTIFIED THE FORMER EMPLOYEE WHO ACCESSED AMY ROBACH HOT MIC FOOTAGE of her complaining that the House of Stephanopoulos spiked her story of Jeffrey Epstein during the 2016 election year, HuffPost/New York magazine contributor Yashar Ali writes in his newsletter.

Two sources with knowledge of the situation tell me that ABC News executives know who the former employee is, but don’t know if that person leaked the footage to Project Veritas, the right-wing activist group, or if they shared it with others who leaked the footage.

What ABC News executives do know is that the former employee is now working at CBS News. I’m told that ABC News executives have informed their counterparts at CBS News that this person accessed the footage of Robach. It’s unclear if CBS News plans on taking any action against the employee.

Or to put it another way, “Funny this comes at a time we are discussing whistleblower protection. Who wants to bet the MSM will be consistent here? Me neither.”
