When the media was showing all of the pictures of women and children in the caravan and chastising the White House for saying the group contained gang members, I guess the photographers somehow missed this guy. The US Border Patrol picked up one of the “migrants” who had already snuck over the border in California last Friday and the “job opportunities” he was seeking in America probably weren’t listed in any help wanted ads in the local paper. As the Washington Examiner reports, the guy was an admitted member of MS-13 who had come here looking to make a name for himself.
The only places I was able to find any references to this story was at the right-leaning Washington Examiner and the blogosphere.
Apparently, this kind of thing isn’t “real” news.

Google employees debated whether to bury conservative media outlets in the company’s search function as a response to President Donald Trump’s election in 2016, internal Google communications obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation reveal.
The Daily Caller and Breitbart were specifically singled out as outlets to potentially bury, the communications reveal.
Trump’s election in 2016 shocked many Google employees, who had been counting on Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton to win.
Communications obtained by TheDCNF show that internal Google discussions went beyond expressing remorse over Clinton’s loss to actually discussing ways Google could prevent Trump from winning again.
“This was an election of false equivalencies, and Google, sadly, had a hand in it,” Google engineer Scott Byer wrote in a Nov. 9, 2016, post reviewed by TheDCNF.
Byer falsely labeled The Daily Caller and Breitbart as “opinion blogs” and urged his coworkers to reduce their visibility in search results.
How can we be sure Google isn’t manipulating their search results already?

A United Nations panel has accused China of turning its far-flung western region of Xinjiang “into something that resembled a massive internment camp shrouded in secrecy, a ‘no rights zone’.” It estimates that there could be as many as one million Muslims who have been detained there.
Former detainees describe being tortured during interrogation, living in crowded cells and being subjected to a brutal daily regimen of Communist Party indoctrination that drove some people to suicide. Most of those who have been rounded up by the security forces are Uighurs, a Muslim ethnic minority that numbers some 10 million. Muslims from other ethnic groups, including Kazakhs, have also been detained.
China rejects the allegations that it has locked up large numbers of Muslims in re-education camps. The facilities, it says, are vocational training centers that emphasize “rehabilitation and redemption” and are part of its efforts to combat terrorism and religious extremism.
The crackdown includes tight control over information and access to the region. Xinjiang is now one of the most heavily policed areas in the world, according to academics and human rights groups. This follows the launching of a “people’s war on terror” in 2014 after a series of violent attacks in Xinjiang and other parts of China that authorities blamed on religious extremists.
While China says the Uighur camps are vocational training centers, they are heavily guarded. Researchers have resorted to using satellite imagery to view and track the expansion of these facilities.
Reuters worked with Earthrise Media, a non-profit group that analyzes satellite imagery, to plot the construction and expansion of 39 of these camps, which were initially identified using publicly available documents such as construction tenders. The building-by-building review of these facilities revealed that the footprint of the built-up area almost tripled in size in the 17 months between April 2017 and August 2018.
There’s more international outrage about the U.S. firing off some tear gas canisters at the border than there is about this.

MEGHAN MURPHY, TWITTER AND THE NEW TRANS MISOGYNY:
Murphy has been repeatedly locked out since for tweeting the likes of ‘men aren’t women,’ ‘males can’t become female,’ and ‘what is the difference between a man and a transwoman?’. Her account was suspended on Friday. Twitter cited a tweet saying ‘Yeah it’s him’ as the reason, which referred to a man named Jonathan Yaniv, who had been making appointments with female beauticians in Vancouver, asking them to perform a ‘Brazilian’ bikini wax on him. For further detail of this case, you can listen here.
In a nutshell, when the beauticians declined to effectively wax Yaniv’s balls, explaining that they only offered the service for women, Yaniv took the women (16 in total) to the B.C. Human Rights Tribunal, in an attempt to sue them for thousands of dollars on account of ‘discrimination,’ claiming he was a woman. Yaniv has withdrawn at least one of the cases against the beauticians – and this month comments online were discovered in which Yaniv was musing about 10-year-old girls and tampon use.
In tweeting about this case, Murphy referred to Yaniv as ‘he’. For this, she has now lost her account, and with it, the potential to promote both her paid work, and her feminist activism on Twitter.

SCIENCE: Many social psychologists are impeded by their ideological aversion to evolutionary psychology.
Quizzing the social psychologists on their views of evolutionary theory, Buss and von Hippel found that they overwhelmingly accepted the principles of Darwinian evolution and also that it applied to humans, but when it came to whether evolutionary theory applies to human psychology and behaviour, the sample was split, with many social psychologists rejecting this notion.
Digging deeper into the survey results, there was no evidence that the social psychologists were averse to evolutionary psychology for religious reasons, but many did reject the idea that humans might be inherently violent (in certain situations) or that some people are widely considered more physically attractive than others due to universal evolved standards of attractiveness – perhaps, Buss and von Hippel suggested, this is because “they dislike the implications regarding the dark side of human nature.”
