Investigators say they found extensive text messages between Muller and the teenage boy. Muller is accused of having sex with the teen at the Hyatt Place Washington DC on E Street SW, blocks south of the National Mall. Maybe we should get rid of the teacher-celibacy rule.

ANOTHER #METOO TORPEDO CIRCLES AROUND: “Tom Frieden, who was New York City’s Health Commissioner before tapped by Barack Obama to head the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has been arrested and charged with sexual assault.”

TEACH WOMEN NOT TO . . . WHATEVER THE HELL YOU CALL THIS: Mother charged with sex trafficking daughter who is disabled. “Court records say the girl is diagnosed with cerebral palsy and autism, is partially deaf, uses corrective leg braces and has the mental capacity of a 2- to 3-year-old child.”

SPENGLER: Art Laffer’s Chinese Curve Ball.

If you want to compare the debt position of the United States and China, consider that the United States has run up $21 trillion in government debt, and has nothing to show for it but future obligations to pay entitlements. China has run up a similar amount of debt, but has used it to build infrastructure. It now has dozens of brand new cities designed for self-driving cars, 30,000 kilometers of high-speed trains, excellent roads, and brand new airports. The US has collapsing infrastructure, a rail system that is a national humiliation, and airports look like Third World leftovers

I’ve been saying for a while now that if the broad American public ever catches on to just how badly Washington has ripped us off and for how long, that the reckoning will be ugly.

And do read the whole thing.

ANN ALTHOUSE: What constitutional crisis? It seems to me the Constitution is in place, working as usual. There are some legal issues in play, but what’s constitutional other than that some of the various actors in the drama have positions defined in the Constitution and obtained by normal constitutional procedures? It was assumed that I would excitedly spring into action because of this assumed ‘constitutional crisis,’ but my response was that I felt distanced from all the ugly divisions, though I thought some good might ultimately come from the crumbling of the 2 political parties.” Indeed.

INSIDE THE WELL DECK: Cool photo of Marines and their assault amphibious vehicles in the well deck of an assault ship. It’s also an informative photo. You get a feel for the size of an assault ship and how much equipment you can cram into them.
