MEH. NO BIG SURPRISE. THEY MADE ME WHITE TOO:  How America Made Me White.  And by “they” I mean the left in the US.  Because I’m not part of the little brownz people who in their prophecies will bring about perfect socialism, therefore I’m white.  As for the rest.  BAH.  Having lived and traveled in Europe they’re far more obsessed with race than we are.  Which makes sense, since most of them are leftists, and our leftists are obsessed with race too, which is why Colbert’s joke works… when speaking to leftists.  Everyone else knows the man just ain’t funny, anyway.

HMM: Woman telling journalists she was paid to smear Robert Mueller may not exist. So that suggests she’s not part of a scheme to smear Mueller, but what’s going on then?

Plus: “Even in the MeToo era, when sexual misconduct allegations come down seemingly daily against powerful men, those accusations typically involve a real, verifiable woman and some kind of corroborating evidence. In this case, there’s neither.”

ANALYSIS: TRUE. Conservatives Don’t Get to Mourn, Karol Markowicz writes:

In the aftermath of terrible events, there are calls for unity, calls for Americans to come together. For Republicans, it’s always except you. Those on the left purposely pushing their political agenda in moments of national grief should be held accountable. Their divisiveness stops us from healing after tragedies. Political shots shouldn’t be worth it.

ANN ALTHOUSE: Blame Trump And Trump Blames You.

The “calls for him to cool his overheated rhetoric” are what I’ve been calling “civility bullshit” for years. It’s always only aimed at the other side. They want you to stop fighting them with vigor, and they have no intention of stopping fighting you. Trump obviously know this and can’t be played. You might think just this once — because 11 people were massacred — he’d go presidential, bow his head, and sing “Amazing Grace,” but his opponents didn’t refrain from closing right in on him and kicking him, and he kicks back.

Yep. And the inevitable cries of “have you no decency?” carry little weight when coming from people who obviously lack all such.

STACY MCCAIN: Why Do We Know Almost Nothing About Pittsburgh Gunman Robert Bowers?

There has been a remarkable failure of journalism in the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting. The gunman, 46-year-old Robert Bowers, remains a cipher. Except for the fact that he posted anti-Semitic rants on the Internet, worked as a truck driver and lived alone in an apartment, we know nothing about Bowers. Who are his parents? Does he have any siblings? Girlfriends? Did he have any hobbies other than hating Jews?

We know none of the answers to such questions. The guy’s a complete mystery. If there are any reporters trying to fill in the background on this guy, so far they have produced nothing, and so the question of why and how this guy turned into a mass murderer cannot be answered.
This bothers me, for some reason. Think about any previous mass murder or terrorist attack — the Boston Marathon bombings, the Parkland massacre, etc. — and remember how within 72 hours we had a vast pile of biographical background on the killers. Obviously, we want to know this information, since it helps us understand the motives. What created the monster? What are the warning signs? Who is vulnerable to online appeals to hate? But in this case, we’ve got nothing.

Three reporters for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette worked on a profile of Bowers, who dropped out of Baldwin High School sometime after his junior year. His photo appears in the school’s 1989 yearbook, however: “He is not listed as taking part in any clubs or activities, and classmates reached by the newspaper said they had no recollection of him.”

A total blank — a neo-Nazi NPC, you might say. The blankness of Robert Bowers should disturb us.

Evidently, any random loner — the quiet, nondescript high-school dropout with no friends or family — could log onto the Internet, find some kind of hate that appeals to him, and become a mass murderer. And in all the world of journalism, nobody except some reporters for the local newspaper will expend any effort to figure out what went wrong in this guy’s life. Why? Because they can explain it all with one word: Trump.

That’s the answer, you see.

If they’re not telling us anything, it’s because they’re afraid anything they told us would hurt the narrative.

MY DAILY CALLER COLUMN THIS WEEK: SELF-SERVING POLITICIANS RAISE A THREAT TO INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALISM, AND THE MEDIA DOESN’T CARE TO COVER IT.

Missouri Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill has demanded a special prosecutor to investigate the use of James O’Keefe’s undercover or hidden camera techniques to address matters of indubitable public concern…It’s pretty clear why McCaskill is upset. In one video, a McCaskill staffer says that the senator downplays her support for gun control. Another staffer suggests she is downplaying her support from former President Barack Obama. In another video, McCaskill is accused of trying to hide her support from Planned Parenthood. Fairly or not, she is painted as a disingenuous hypocrite.

It goes deeper than the medias’ dislike for James O’Keefe. It goes to the heart of pet causes and biases in the newsrooms.

PC KILLS AN INDIAN STAR:

Comedy great Mel Brooks once said that our “stupidly politically correct” culture would result in the death of comedy. I think he is being proven right. Even The Simpsons tried to confront this last year. In an episode that peripherally alluded to the Apu controversy, Lisa Simpson says, in response to a question from Marge, “Something that started decades ago and was applauded and inoffensive is now politically incorrect. What can you do?”

We now know the answer: You can give up and walk away. These thin-skinned social-media mobs continue to cause everlasting damage to the ability of individuals to say and express their feelings and display their art, and every single episode like this brings us closer to a point at which nobody can joke about anyone or anything without fear of reprisals and claims of racism. What a sad society that will be.

So, here, at the end, Apu is — somewhat ironically — being deported from Springfield, to the everlasting joy of the liberals who targeted him for expulsion. Mission accomplished. The mob wins again.
