AT ACE, NEW RULES: “There aren’t any rules anymore because the left only applies them one way. And in doing so, they’ve left what once was a civil compact between the two parties in smoldering ruins. . . . The rules created by the left will be applied to the left as equally and punitively as they have applied them to the right. And when they beg for mercy, I’ll begin to reconsider. Or maybe not. Because fuck these people.”

K-12 IMPLOSION UPDATE: Paper Airplane Toss Could Land SC High School Student In Jail.
The South Strand News reports that the student, 17-year-old David Michael Elliott, was arrested January 10 by Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office deputies and charged with third degree assault and battery. The teacher, Edward McIver, told deputies he had been struck in the eye by the errant paper airplane.
According to the incident report, McIver contacted the school resource officer to report he had been hit in the eye. He was “very upset” about the incident because he had recently had ocular surgery. The teacher said this was not the first incident with Elliott in the classroom, and “something needs to be done.” Deputy Paul Glover asked if McIver wanted to press charges. The teacher said if Elliot was in fact responsible, he did.
The resource officer then met with Elliott, who admitted to throwing the airplane, and said he had intended to hit McIver in the head, but not the eye. Elliot could not give a “logical reason” for throwing the airplane, and he was cited by resource officer Glover for third degree assault and battery.
My seventh-grade English teacher, facing the blackboard, somehow caught one of my classmates launching a spitwad. We learned this when he took the chalk eraser he was holding and beaned my classmate with it.
We had only the one instance of anything like that, and zero police.
OF COURSE THEY ARE: Media Matters Is Trying To Influence Facebook’s News Judgment.
Left-wing activist organization Media Matters claims to be secretly working “behind the scenes” with Facebook to influence Facebook’s news judgment on the subject of “fake news,” according to a briefing book for donors obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.
Matter Matters, founded by Clinton hack David Brock and funded by left-wing financier George Soros, claims its “core mission” as an organization is “disarming right-wing misinformation.” This typically takes the form of attacking non-liberal news sources and playing defense for Democrat politicians and other prominent liberals. Leaked emails from the Clinton campaign revealed staffers discussing coordinating with Media Matters to push their message out into the media.
In the briefing book, Media Matters takes credit for pressuring Facebook into committing to fight fake news.
The question is as ever: Who will watch the watchmen?

TEACH WOMEN NOT TO RAPE! (CONT’D): Women’s March Featured Speaker Who Kidnapped, Raped And Tortured A Man.
Hylton, along with three men and three other women, kidnapped 62-year-old real-estate broker Thomas Vigliarole and held him for ransom, before eventually killing him. As noted in a 1995 Psychology Today article, when asked about forcibly sodomizing the victim with a three foot steel pole, Hylton replied: “He was a homo anyway.”
Speaking about Hylton, New York City Detective William Spurling told Psychology Today: “I couldn’t believe this girl who was so intelligent and nice-looking could be so unemotional about what she was telling me she and her friends had done. They’d squeezed the victim’s testicles with a pair of pliers, beat him, burned him.”
According to that same article, Hylton delivered a ransom note to a friend of Vigliarole’s asking for more than $400,000, even though the victim was already dead by that point.
Well, when a Democratic president can get his start in Bill Ayers’ living room, there are no limits.
LOW-HANGING FRUIT FOR TRUMP: Make America’s Airports Great Again. By international standards, airports in the U.S. are terrible, but there’s an easy fix available without spending any federal money. Just follow the example of the rest of the world. From my piece in City Journal:
Outside the United States, in cities such as London, Paris, Madrid, Zurich, Frankfurt, Rome, Istanbul, Mumbai, Sydney, and Buenos Aires, public-private partnerships are transforming the industry, with airports getting sold or leased to private-management companies that focus on pleasing passengers. To make a profit, these managers must hold down costs, while enticing customers with lots of flights, competitive fares, and terminals with appealing stores and restaurants. London’s three airports have improved dramatically since they were privatized—first as a single company, and then divided into three separate firms so as to encourage competition. Heathrow, currently eighth in the international ranking, has been so intent on attracting passengers that it built and runs a nonstop express train linking the terminal to central London. To deal with surging demand, its management company is seeking to add another runway, as is the rival company in London running Gatwick Airport.
In the United States, by contrast, airports are still typically run by politicians in conjunction with the locally dominant airlines, which help finance the terminals in return for long-term leases on the gates and other facilities. Keeping costs down and customers happy are not the highest priorities. The airlines use their control of the gates and landing slots to keep out competitors so that they can charge higher fares; the politicians use their share of the revenue to reward supporters, especially the unionized airport workers who contribute to their campaigns.
The unions and airlines, aided by lots of Democrats and a few Republicans in Congress, have put up barriers to privatization, but these could be eliminated if the Trump administration follows through with its promises to improve infrastructure. Trump could also help his hometown airports, which are horribly managed even by American standards, if he presses Congress to remove a federal exemption allowing the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to divert revenue from JFK, La Guardia and Newark to its pet projects, like the PATH heavy-rail transit system for New Jersey commuters.
The best hope for those airports, and for the rest of New York, would be to heed the new report by Robert Poole for the Manhattan Institute on the Port Authority, the public agency created by Progressives who believed that expert central planners would run everything so much more wisely. The result, as Poole summarizes, has been “mediocre airports, congested and inadequate bridges and tunnels, money-losing seaports, a pathetic bus terminal, and the worst heavy-rail transit system in the nation.” His solution: dismantle the agency and lease its assets to competent managers.
BECAUSE WHEN YOUR HEART IS FULL OF PATRIOTISM, THERE IS NO ROOM FOR PREJUDICE: A white Trump voter explains why he left a black waitress a $450 tip with an uplifting note.
Plus: “‘You automatically assume if someone supports Trump that they have ideas about you,’ she said, ‘but [the customer was] more embracing than even some of my more liberal friends, and there was a real authenticity in our exchange.’ . . . But she said the men left her with so much more. Their words were a reminder not to make assumptions. And that so many Americans want unity, regardless of their politics, and to not be afraid to connect with someone as human beings, she said.”
As a great man once said, “Whether we are black or brown or white, we all bleed the same red blood of patriots.”
