ACTUALLY, MORE LIKE A HATE CRIME: Social worker: False rape accusations just a cry for help.

Women who make false rape and sexual assault accusations are just looking for help, according to a social worker in Boise, Idaho.

Becky Waggaman with Warm Springs Counseling Center told Boise’s CBS affiliate KBOI2 that false accusers are troubled and looking for sympathy.

“Sexual assaults get a lot of attention,” Waggaman said. “They get a lot of media. If that’s [the] primary goal, then that’s what they’re going to go for.”

Waggaman said this was the case even when the accuser is anonymous.

“So it’s still out there, and they can say: ‘That’s me, that’s me,'” Waggaman said, “and they can get a lot of other people involved in their storytelling.”

Waggaman also told KBOI2 that those who make false accusations should get the help they seek.

Waggaman’s comments come after a second sexual assault accusation in Boise proved to be false.

Let them get help in prison.

SORRY, TRUMP, AMERICA CAN’T BE GREAT AGAIN — Our economy can no longer deliver the fast growth the candidates are promising. But that hasn’t stopped the demagoguery,” Michael Lind writes in the Politico.

Alternate headline: lefty writer discovers that Obama’s seven years in office have been a disaster. Especially since in December of 2008, a month before Obama would take office with both houses of Congress under the control of his fellow Democrats, Lind was predicting a rosy quick-start go-go economic future in Salon*:

Obama’s priorities make excellent sense. After emergency measures to stabilize the economy, public investment aimed at accelerating U.S. economic growth should be domestic reform priority No. 1. That’s because raising the rate of economic growth is the reform that makes all subsequent reforms easier. Accelerating the long-term growth of the productive economy will get us out of the recession faster, refill depleted federal, state and local government funding for public services sooner, and permit larger investments to be made with the same or lower tax rates in areas of needed reform like social insurance, energy and education. And the more rapidly the economy grows, the more quickly the colossal but necessary deficits the U.S. is now running up will melt away.

Another rube self-identifies — but he’s far from alone in that department on the left.

* That was before Salon decided it would be better to nationalize everything in America that wasn’t already socialized.

POPE AND GUARDIAN AGREE – “ARAB INVASION” OF EUROPE REALLY GREAT! Well, this doesn’t happen very often:

“The Pope says ‘it is a social fact’ that Europe is seeing an ‘Arab invasion’ – and it’s a GOOD thing.”

—Headline, London Daily Mail yesterday.

● “What do you see in this picture? I glimpse the darkness of European fears — I can insist this is an image of heroic, defiant, brave refugees, trying to make us live up to our liberal values. But to terrified European eyes they are the other, the enemy.”

—Headline and subhead, London Guardian, Wednesday.

As Kathy Shaidle jokes, “We have reached Peak Guardian. Repeat: Peak Guardian.”

But there’s no limiting factor on “peak Guardian” — they’ll top that soon enough.

BOOM! ALSO, TRUE. Bernie Sanders blames Clinton for Michigan’s declining middle class.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) blasted Hilary Clinton on Friday, arguing his Democratic presidential primary rival’s policies generated Michigan’s ailing middle class.

“If the people of Michigan want to make a decision about which candidate stood with workers against corporate America and against these disastrous trade agreements, that candidate is Bernie Sanders,” he said during a rally in Traverse City, according to a campaign statement obtained by NBC News.

Sanders argued that Clinton’s support of legislation like the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) had helped create the Great Lakes State’s crippling poverty.

“[NAFTA] is one of the reasons that the middle class in this country is disappearing,” the self-described Democratic socialist said.

“[NAFTA and other trade deals are] crafted by the big-money interests and corporations. Hillary Clinton was on the wrong side of many of these trade agreements.”

Sanders has been escalating his attacks against Clinton’s trade stances all week, arguing on Thursday that she has proven “very, very wrong” on the issue and caused economic misfortune.

The Vermont lawmaker is scrambling for traction with Michigan voters before its Democratic presidential primary next Tuesday. Clinton leads Sanders by nearly 18 points before ballots are cast there, according to the latest RealClearPolitics average of polls.

EATING THEIR OWN: PC Hysteria Claims Another Professor: A University of Kansas professor was turned in by her students after using the ”n-word” in class to discuss her own white privilege. “What she did was make the mistake of using the n-word—during a discussion in which she was admitting her own shortcomings about race. She didn’t use the word maliciously: She was, quite literally, checking her privilege. Isn’t that exactly what far-left students want from their classmates, administrators, and professors?”

No, what they want is to exercise unaccountable power for the thrill of it. They should not be indulged in this base desire.

OUT: IT’S SHAMEFULLY SEXIST TO EVEN SUGGEST THE POSSIBILITY THAT A WOMAN’S PERIOD MIGHT AFFECT HER WORK.

In: Women must have “period leave” because equality! “I feel like I’m taking crazy pills. Women complain of unequal treatment from their male colleagues, that they face discrimination in the workplace and that they can do anything that men can do. This strikes me as an acknowledgement that we can’t. . . . The men, naturally, won’t be getting any time off for their easily treatable aches and pains. Even if you don’t mind the discrimination against men to give women this special treatment — allowing them to skip work a few days every month while the men pick up the slack — it would also be discriminating against menopausal women. (And what about trans women?)”

HIGHER EDUCATION BUBBLE UPDATE, LEGAL EDUCATION EDITION: 1L Attrition Increases As Median LSATs Decline. Yep. The conflict is that when you admit students with low LSAT scores, they are less likely to complete law school, less likely to pass the bar, and less likely to be employed afterward. But — and here’s the conflict — their tuition money is just as valuable to law schools as that of students who are likely to succeed. So law schools have an incentive to admit students who will do poorly, just as cash cows.

When law school was cheap, you could justify this as giving everyone a shot. Now that it involves six figure debt, not so much. At the very least, there should be full disclosure.
