THESE 18 CELEBRITIES WHO PROMISED TO MOVE IF TRUMP WAS ELECTED CAN GET ON THAT NOW.

And it’s not even a complete list. Recall this item from early last month:

The wife of ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos declared that if Donald Trump wins, the couple is moving to Australia. That’s according to the Hollywood Reporter in a piece from Tuesday on how celebrities will react to the election. Ali Wentworth is an actress, notable for appearing on Seinfeld and marrying Stephanopoulos.

Will any GOP interviewee have the chutzpah to remind the scandal-tarnished DNC operative with a byline when appearing on his show?

OBAMA VOTER ANN ALTHOUSE: The NYT headline says “C.I.A. Judgment on Russia Built on Swell of Evidence” and I’m instantly skeptical about whether what’s in the article supports that headline. Because there’s so much fake news these days.

Plus: “Ever notice how cries of ‘fake news!’ slip out of the news when the news outlets have some fake news to slip over?”

And: “That’s no swell of evidence! That’s a lot of leaping guesswork. And this is nothing more than I already read in the article the NYT put out on December 9th, which I put effort into combing through and rejected for the same reasons I’m putting in this new post. This might be the biggest fake news story I’ve ever seen!”

It’s all about delegitimizing Trump. But as someone said earlier, our political class is pulling out one control rod after another.

DISPATCHES FROM THE EDUCATION APOCALYPSE: University of Pennsylvania Students remove Shakespeare portrait in English dept., “aiming for inclusivity.”

Hey, hey, ho, ho, Western Civ has got to go, as a former Democratic presidential candidate was quoted as saying at Stanford in the 1980s. And the airbrushes have been going non-stop ever since.

Cost of attendance at the University of Pennsylvania is $69,340. Parents and students, chose where to spend your money wisely.

JEFF CARTER: Before you get too cheery about the “Trump Rally,” . . .

Yes, it’s fun to mock Paul Krugman’s prediction of an immediate post-election collapse from which there would be no recovery, but just because Krugman was wrong about that doesn’t mean that it’s all beer and skittles. I’ve been expecting a stock downturn for a while.

HIGHER EDUCATION BUBBLE UPDATE: Washington State professors denounce ‘discourses of free speech.’ “The scholars go on to suggest more must be done to crack down on what they consider hate speech and acts, telling the campus community that the defense of freedom of speech and freedom of expression is harmful.”

WHATEVER THE GOP IS PAYING JILL STEIN, THEY SHOULD DOUBLE IT: Wisconsin Recount Ends With Trump EXPANDING Lead Over Clinton. “The increase in Trumps’s lead amounts to one vote for every $21,605 spent by Stein.”

UPDATE: Wisconsin and Pennsylvania Certify Trump Victory After Recount Effort. ” The Wisconsin Elections Commission certified that the Republican actually picked up 162 votes during the recount, resulting in a more than 22,000 vote victory over Clinton. The final tally changed less than one percent from the original count of the November 8 election. In Pennsylvania, a judge rejected Stein’s recount effort, clearing the way for the state to certify Trump’s victory there. And last week the Michigan Supreme Court denied Stein’s appeal to restart the recount there.”

NEW REPORT FROM FIRE: RESTRICTIVE CAMPUS SPEECH POLICIES SEE RECORD DECLINE – Today the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE) released its annual “Spotlight on Speech Codes,” a report on the speech policies at 449 of America’s largest and most prestigious colleges and universities. This year’s report indicates a record decline in the percentage of universities maintaining policies that severely restrict students’ free speech rights.

Unfortunately, however, it isn’t all good news. For example, about 40 percent of the schools FIRE surveyed had a “bias reporting team” tasked with investigating incidents of verbal bias. As the Wall Street Journal reported:

Even as some colleges drop speech codes to avoid legal challenges, many have established “bias” reporting systems that solicit complaints about offensive speech. As Fire explains, these systems encourage “students to report on one another—and on faculty members—whenever they subjectively perceive that someone’s speech or expression is biased.”

Check out more about the report over on FIRE’s website, or read the Wall Street Journal’s write-up about the findings!
