BYRON YORK: The Candidate Who Never Quit.
AT THE MOMENT: At the moment it appears we will see –as the sun rises– a Republican House, a Republican Senate, a leftist crooked Democrat media, a corrupt federal bureaucracy, a corrupt political elite and a nationalist president. Of course, we also have an angry American electorate. Which one is more powerful?

ASSOCIATED PRESS calls Florida for Trump. Fox calls NC and Ohio for Trump.
OPEN ELECTION THREAD: Talk about the election in the comments here!
THE ATMOSPHERE AT CNN IS FUNEREAL.
A journalist reader writes: “You know, when the Ministry of Truth is calling it for Eastasia, when Goebbels says the Ivans are in Berlin, when Pravda declares Capitalism the superior economic system. . . ” Well, it’s not over yet, but yeah.
UPDATE: The movement is all pro-Trump, though it’s not over yet:
ANOTHER UPDATE:
It’s not over yet, but the fat lady is clearing her throat.
FOX IS REPORTING THAT WEST VIRGINIA JOE MANCHIN SAYS HE MAY FLIP TO REPUBLICAN if the Senate goes 50-50.
ROGER SIMON ON THE PJ DRUNKBLOG:
So far the big losers of the evening are the NeverTrumpers. Given how close this election is, if they had shelved their moral narcissism for a while, Trump would have won this thing. Sorry to say this, but they are going to face this if Clinton wins. I’m not going to be the only one saying this. Pompous elitist like John Kasich will have to answer to the working class that clearly prefer Trump.
It’s certainly true that a lot of NeverTrumpers were saying that if Trump were the nominee, he’d lose in a wipeout of Dukakis-like proportions. Not so much, it seems. Win or lose, he’s run a solid campaign. Would he be doing better without the NeverTrumpers? Not clear that they’ve made that big a difference, but they certainly didn’t help.

TENTATIVE REPORT OF A CALIFORNIA POLL “LOCKED DOWN” DUE TO A SHOOTING: Two people reportedly wounded. The gunfire occurred outside the polling station. The polling station was in Asuza.
Will mainstream media reports mention Project Veritas’ videos which exposed Robert Creamer, the Democrat operative who employed political terror to disrupt Trump rallies? That would establish context for assessing election violence.
I HOPE IT WORKS: Army scientists begin testing inactive Zika virus vaccine in humans. “A Zika vaccine is still two to three years away from public availability, according to scientists, but most vaccines have traditionally taken a decade or longer to develop. The shorter time frame is due in part to lessons learned from prior infectious disease outbreaks.”
We need to be able to develop new vaccines in weeks or months, not years. But years are better than decades.
JUST “BAD LUCK,” I GUESS:
THE ROLLING STONE VERDICT AND THE END OF HONORABLE JOURNALISM:
The verdict against Rolling Stone is a punishment for journalistic malpractice—but it’s also something more. The case highlights the elimination of an honor culture in journalism and in public life. Vast majorities of people dislike journalists, not because journalists are liberal, although that’s part of it. Journalists are disliked because they act without honor. Such was the case with Rolling Stone’s fake rape story.
To understand the importance of honor in journalism, it helps to go back to one of the best examples of honest journalism in history. It comes from the former pages of Rolling Stone itself.
Read the whole thing.

I’m not at all sure I agree with that assessment, any more than RatherGate ended CBS News. In both cases, while those fabulist scandals exposed both institutions as being staffed by Democrat operatives with bylines, their brands are deep-pocketed enough to continue for quite some time. Even if Rolling Stone is sold, somebody will buy the brand for its boomer-era music cachet, just as there’s still a post-Washington Post, post-Daily Beast zombie version of Newsweek still on the Internet.
HMMM: LAST NIGHT WAS THE HIGH-POINT OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY’S COOL: Obama is About to Retire, and Leave the Democrats Old, White, and Out of Ideas.
