SHOT: Permian’s Wolfcamp formation called biggest shale oil field in U.S. “The estimate lends credence to the assertion from Pioneer Natural Resources CEO Scott Sheffield that the Permian’s shale could hold as much as 75 billion barrels, making it second only to Saudi Arabia’s Ghawar field. Irving-based Pioneer has been increasing its production targets all year as drilling in the Wolfcamp produced bigger gushers than the company’s engineers and geologists forecast.”

HMM: Dementia risk increased with use of blood-thinning drugs. “A new study reviewing medical data from 6,000 patients reports that individuals with atrial fibrillation who take anticoagulants are at higher risk of dementia than patients who take the blood-thinning drugs for other reasons. . . . The authors conclude that taking warfarin is associated with an increased risk of dementia in all patients, but more so in AF patients.”

I HAVE TO SAY, THE POST-ELECTION PERIOD IS TURNING OUT TO BE MORE FUN THAN I EXPECTED:

Technically, though, I think it was Bill who was done out of a job by an immigrant, not Michelle. Can we get a photoshop with him?

GUNS, GUNS, AND MORE GUNS: Guinness refuses to acknowledge NRA’s world record, gun activists say.

The National Rifle Association tried to set a world record Monday for the number of people firing two rounds at the same time — but they claimed the Guinness World Records committee shot it down.

NRA spokesman Jason Brown said Guinness World Records emailed him to say the organization did not have such a record — and had no plans to create it. Still, he told USA Today it wasn’t too big a deal, saying the NRA was the ultimate authority on gun-related record-keeping.

“There’s something that just seems right about making history today,’’ NRA board member Pete Brownell said at the special event in Phoenix, called the “1000 Man Shoot.”

Standing shoulder-to-shoulder outdoors at a shooting facility, 1,000 men and women stood ready, aimed and fired. Two minutes later, they fired again to a big cheer, the activists said.

Surely this record attempt is no sillier than the Guinness-recognized 2013 world record for the tallest Mohawk.

WELL, YEAH: IEA expects U.S. shale output rise if OPEC pushes oil to $60.

Some frackers can make money at sub-$50 prices. Many more are profitable at $60, and working furiously on becoming even more efficient and productive.

Barring a major crisis in the Middle East, there’s an effective $60-$70 ceiling on the price of oil — and that ceiling drops a little with each new productivity gain made by American frackers.

OUT: LOVE TRUMPS HATE/THEY GO LOW, WE GO HIGH.

In: Trump supporter, 15, beaten during Rockville protest.

A march of students in Rockville, Maryland, protesting the election of Donald Trump to the presidency turned violent on Wednesday morning as a teenager wearing a Trump hat was beaten.

Hundreds of students from Richard Montgomery High School were carrying signs reading, “Love Trumps Hate,” and chanting near the Rockville courthouse on Maryland Avenue in a protest that began at about 10 a.m. when a 15-year-old boy wearing one of the Trump campaign’s “Make American Great Again” hats was attacked by about four students.

The group surrounded the teen, punching him repeatedly, then threw him to the ground and kicked him repeatedly in the ribs. It is not yet clear what led up to the incident.

“They jumped him and beat him up pretty bad,” Max Stucky, a bystander who witnessed the attack, told WTOP.

Related: New York Magazine and its readers make a point of taking pleasure in a group of teenagers shouting “Fuck your father!” at Eric Trump. “We’re told there were ‘about eight’ of these teenagers, accosting Eric (and his wife) as they crossed a street in NYC. This is ugly and should be condemned, but New York Magazine asks us to take a break from our own suffering (over the outcome of the election) and appreciate it. Vile.”
