The Left is expert at this, using the rich vernacular of political correctness to denounce its opponents without having to address the merits of their arguments. For this reason, it was entirely predictable that Justice Antonin Scalia’s skeptical questioning at last week’s oral argument in Fisher v. University of Texas – zeroing in on the “mismatch” theory — would be mischaracterized by left-wing media outlets such as Mother Jones (“Justice Scalia Suggests Blacks Belong at ‘Slower’ Colleges”)
Surprisingly, however, ostensibly neutral publications such as Alcalde, the house organ for UT’s alumni organization, Texas Exes (of which I am a Life Member), joined the shrill chorus, condemning Justice Scalia’s comments as “racist and offensive.” My demand for a retraction and apology (so far, unsuccessful) is chronicled in The American Spectator. Conservative alumni whose alma maters (and/or alumni organizations) are being hijacked by the Left should remember that silence is assent.
I recommend complaining to university administrators, and making clear that you’ll be talking to other alumni. Maybe even occupying somebody’s office. That’s what you do when you’re offended, right?

Their fear/hatred/desire of normal life produces ugly and dysfunctional results.

On November 16, Breitbart Contributors Ilya Feoktistov and Sam Westrop released a devastating exposé on recently re-elected Cambridge City Council Member Nadeem Mazen, who also proudly serves on the board of the Massachusetts chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), an organization linked to Hamas and financed in part by Saudis.
The piece, titled “Hamas On The Charles: Cambridge, MA Re-elects CAIR Leader To City Council,” delved into Mr. Mazen’s ideology, and his distain for secular Muslims.
In addition to his leadership roles at CAIR, the Hamas-tied, Islamist group, with which the the FBI has suspended formal contacts, and also with MassMuslims, Mazen “was elected president of the MIT Muslim Students Association, under the aegis of Suheil Laher, who, it turns out, is a former Al Qaeda fundraiser,” wrote Feoktistov and Westrop. And Mazen himself has argued against the Cambridge Police Department’s “increased militarization,” even in the aftermath of the Boston Marathon bombings.
Their fact-based piece, which cited twenty-nine sources, provoked an apparent panic within the Cambridge City Council. Last Monday, it unanimously passed an official resolution censuring Breitbart News Network, for its supposed “history of outrageous and sensationalized journalism designed for shock value but which has no proven basis in truth whatsoever.”
Well, that’s a good way to be sure that no one will pay any attention to this story.

BERGDAHL TO FACE COURT-MARTIAL FOR DESERTION: Frankly, the only surprising thing about this is that Army General who made this decision, General Robert B. Abrams, had the courage to move Bergdahl’s case forward despite the Obama Administration’s repeated attempts to downplay the seriousness of Bergdahl’s offenses.
Obama broke U.S. law by failing to notify Congress in advance of his decision to swap Bergdahl’s freedom for five high-ranking Taliban leaders, several of whom have attempted to resume hostilities against the U.S. All five of the freed Taliban–Mullah-Norullah Noori, Mohammed A Fazl, Mullah Khairullah Khairkhwa, Mohammed Nabi Omari, and Abdul Haq Wasiq–were classified by the Department of Defense to pose a “HIGH” risk the the U.S.
The Bergdahl swap is a perfect illustration of the incompetence and/or treasonous behavior of Obama. Our President released five highly dangerous Islamic radicals for one treasonous U.S. soldier. He broke the law in doing so. Is this a decision that makes you feel safe? A recent Washington Post-ABC poll shows that a majority of Americans disapprove of President Obama’s handling of terrorism, and a Gallup poll released yesterday indicates that terrorism is now the most important problem identified by respondents.
It has taken awhile to sink in for some, but most Americans are finally beginning to understand that this President does not have America’s best interests in mind.

IF FAR-RIGHT PROTESTERS HAD DISRUPTED OBAMA RALLIES IN 2008, THEY’D HAVE BEEN CALLED NAZIS. WHEN FAR-LEFT PROTESTERS DISRUPT TRUMP RALLIES, TRUMP’S CALLED A NAZI.
As a general rule, far right-wing protesters did not systematically disrupt Sen. Obama’s rallies and, as a result, dominate press coverage of those events. Now, the far left-wing version of that disruption has become the story of many Trump gatherings.
In that sense, Trump’s rally at the Westgate was the most protested, the loudest, the rowdiest and most Trumpian rally yet.
The protesters who come to Trump’s events, many of them affiliated with some arm of the Black Lives Matter movement, have refined their techniques. It goes like this: They come to a rally, settle into the crowd, and then one of them begins yelling loudly, causing the crowd to react — usually with a chant of “Trump! Trump! Trump!” — and then the protester tries to make the inevitable security removal as long and as noisy as possible.
Only after all that is done does another protester repeat the process. Then yet another protester does it. With sequential removals, a small group of demonstrators can screw things up for quite a while.
Perhaps Trump will sue them. Meanwhile, the press would have been all over who was financing and training the protesters in 2008. Not so much in 2015.
