Donald Trump says Hillary Clinton will likely win the Democratic nomination because she is being “protected” from any consequences stemming from her use of a private email server.

“I think probably she did well enough in the debate that she’s going to get it, depending on what happens with the emails, but I think she’s being protected,” Trump told radio host John Catsimatidis on “The Cats Roundtable” on AM 970 New York on Sunday.

Yep. I follow a lot of Beltway journalists on Twitter, and it’s pretty obvious that they’ve circled the wagons around her candidacy. Interestingly, it’s obvious to a lot of Bernie Sanders supporters, too.

Most of this country wants to elect a president in 2016 who is for all the people, from Baltimore, Md., to New Baltimore, Pa., and beyond.

President Obama has celebrated that he is not, nor ever intended to be, such a leader.

He has used his position as one of deep correction, to change what his elite and academic prisms view as a deeply flawed country.

Those corrections were not made in the spirit of taking us together to a better place. Instead, they have been bitterly divisive and intended to produce “justice.” . . .

Earlier this month, Harvard-educated lifelong Manhattanite Josh Barro, a New York Times reporter, tweeted: “Whenever I’m in a plane over middle America, I look down and think, ‘That’s where 2 Broke Girls viewers live.’”

Those 20 contempt-laced words explain how many in the national press view the rest of the country, and they reflect how many progressives view Main Street.

Like Mae West, they used to try to conceal their contempt. Now they don’t care who knows it.

IS OBAMA AS BAD AS CARTER? NO, HE’S WORSE:

Conservatives have long attacked President Barack Obama by comparing him with Jimmy Carter. Obama seemed to be following in Carter’s footsteps, becoming a failure both at home and abroad. That comparison is mistaken, however. Obama is far worse than Carter.

“I think of Jimmy Carter as the good old days,” said former ambassador and American Enterprise Institute senior fellow John Bolton.

He’s in good company.

HOW MUCH CONTEMPT DOES THIS WHITE HOUSE HAVE FOR THE MILITARY? THIS MUCH:

Last month CENTCOM commander General Lloyd Austin admitted that after the debacle only “four or five” Pentagon-trained rebels remain active in Syria.

Gates also said Obama distrusted the military, which was “particularly true in Afghanistan.”

“I think there were people in the White House, and I don’t want to name any names, who were constantly goading him,” Gates said.

When asked if Vice President Joe Biden was one of these people, Gates said, “I think so. And I was told so…”

He said those people were saying “the military is trying to box you in. The military is trying to trap you. The military is trying to bully you. The military is trying to make you do something you don’t want to do.”

Well, it’s true. They want him to defend America and Americans.

CULTURE OF CORRUPTION: Huma Abedin Flouted Financial Disclosure Requirements; Hillary Approved Her Sweetheart Deal Anyway.

This email came two days after Abedin had already received SGE status. Documents previously obtained by Judicial Watch show that Hillary Clinton personally signed the authorization giving Abedin that status.

The State Department has represented that it has given Judicial Watch all the documents it has pertaining to Abedin’s employment. If true, then Abedin obtained her “special” job despite her refusal to provide basic financial information that he was required to furnish. And she obtained it as the result of Hillary Clinton’s approval.

Abedin also received a security clearance she should not have been granted. Earlier in 2012, Abedin had obtained a pre-approved Top Secret (Critical Sensitive) clearance for her SGE position. According to Judicial Watch, the “revalidation” of her security clearance was directly tied to her pending SGE status. Because she should not have obtained SGE status, she should not (as I understand it) have had her security clearance revalidated.

Rules and accountability are for the little people. For the Clintons and their intimates, government is one big lucrative playground.
