CULTURE OF CORRUPTION: Olga Roche, the disgraced former child welfare chief ousted in April amid a firestorm of criticism, quietly retired as a state employee last Friday — right after she turned 60 — scoring a potentially hefty pension bump in the process, the Herald has learned. “Roche came under fire when a 5-year-old Fitchburg boy, Jeremiah Oliver, went missing for months while under the Department of Children and Families’ watch, before he was found dead, the first of several high-profile deaths of children under state care.”
ASHE SCHOW: CNN anchor, liberals give grins and thumbs up to violence against the ‘Right’ women.
Wednesday afternoon, CNN anchor Carol Costello hyped newly released audio of Sarah Palin’s daughter Bristol tearfully recounting her being physically assaulted during a fight the family was involved in last month by saying it was “quite possibly the best minute and a half of audio we’ve ever come across.” She grinned during the entire setup.
The anchor went on to say “sit back and enjoy,” before playing the audio, in which Bristol says she confronted a man who had allegedly pushed her little sister, only to have him shove her to the ground, then drag her by her feet while calling her an obscene name I cannot republish here that refers to the female anatomy.
Costello commented, still grinning, after the audio that “the long bleep” was her favorite part. She ended the segment by saying “you can thank me later.”
Costello is the same anchor who was enraged by the NFL’s apparent lack of concern for the wife of former Baltimore Ravens star Ray Rice, who was punched by the football player in an Atlantic City elevator in February.
Obviously Costello should be fired for her misogyny and approval of violence against women. Perhaps if people are angry about this, they might call their local airport authority and demand that it take off the nonstop CNN monitors. Nobody likes it, and it’s probably CNN’s main viewership these days. . .

KATHY SHAIDLE: Two Fatal Jihadist Attacks In Canada In 48 Hours. “It was harder to explain to Americans that the guy who took down the terrorist, the sergeant-at-arms, is best known for wearing a funny, archaic getup during government ceremonies. It’s a fancy-pants job given to a distinguished older fellow — Kevin Vickers is 58 — as a kind of pre-retirement honor. Luckily, yesterday, Vickers had a handgun in his desk drawer…”

MAYBE SHE’S JUST NOT THAT GOOD A CANDIDATE: Democrat Martha Coakley struggles again on Massachusetts campaign trail. “One of the most famous losers in recent U.S. politics is back on the campaign trail in Massachusetts. It is not going as well as she had hoped.” When the WaPo writes that way about a Democrat, it’s not going well at all.
EBOLA MONITORING IN THE U.S.: More Citizens Under Watch Per CDC Policy.
WHO COULD HAVE SEEN THIS COMING? Democrats Losing Public Trust on Health Care.
The Democrats’ historic advantage on the health issue continues to weaken, and the GOP advantage on foreign policy is growing. In 2007, 50 percent of respondents to a WSJ poll said they trusted the Democratic Party to improve the U.S. health care system, compared to 28 percent who trusted Republicans. By March of this year, those numbers had shifted to 44 percent and 36 percent, still in the Democrats’ favor. Now that gap is even smaller, according to a WSJ write-up of a new a AP Poll. . . .
It’s no wonder that, with numbers like these, many are now predicting that GOP will re-take the Senate in the November midterms. But it’s remarkable that not only foreign policy but also health care issues could help get them there, given how dominant the Democratic Party has been on the latter for so long. The botched ACA rollout took a toll, but more damaging has been the law’s perceived failure to noticeably lessen the burden of health care costs and access for the average American. The issue remains hugely important to U.S voters who think the country’s health care system remains deeply dysfunctional, and they are increasingly turning away from Democratic leadership regarding solutions. This, so far, is the legacy of Obama’s number one domestic achievement.
It’s a train wreck.
