OBAMA GOES AFTER BAIN CAPITAL, but he’s vulnerable on Crony Capital. “We welcome the Obama campaign’s attempt to pivot back to jobs and a discussion of their failed record. Mitt Romney helped create more jobs in his private sector experience and more jobs as Governor of Massachusetts than President Obama has for the entire nation. President Obama has many questions to answer as to why his administration used the stimulus to reward wealthy campaign donors with taxpayer money for bad ideas like Solyndra, but 23 million Americans are still struggling to find jobs. If the Obama administration was less concerned about pleasing their wealthy donors and more concerned about creating jobs, America would be much better off.”

OUTSOURCING IS SO LAST-YEAR: The Future of Customer Support.
THE TROUBLE WITH BANDWIDTH CAPS.
SO MUCH FOR THAT “SMART DIPLOMACY” TALK: BOMBSHELL: Al-Qaeda Infiltrator was Working for Brits not CIA, Cover Blown for Election Year Politics. “The leaks about the operation from the American side have infuriated British intelligence officials, who had hoped to continue the operation. The leaks not only scuttled the mission but put the life of the asset in jeopardy. Even CIA officials, joining their MI5 and MI6 counterparts, were describing the leaks as ‘despicable,’ attributing them to the Obama administration.”
UPDATE: Reader Scott Cosman writes:
And to think of the fuss made over the “outing” of CIA “operative” Valerie Plame. Now this is a real “outing”.
Well, to be fair, both outings were done by Democrats.

BEACH READING: So on my trip last week I read several excellent books. First, by John Barnes, Losers In Space, a modern version of a Heinlein junior novel — call it a cross between Podkayne of Mars and Tunnel In The Sky.
Also John Scalzi’s Redshirts, about life as an expendable minor character — and what happens when the expendable minor characters decide not to be expended.
And the new Barnes book sent me back to re-read Mother of Storms, which held up quite well. All highly recommended.
LEGAL EDUCATION UPDATE: Attention Law Schools: Our Cheese Is Being Moved.
RONNIE SCHREIBER: Will Fire Safety Concerns Slow EV Acceptance? “Due to a recalled electrical component, many times more Mini Coopers have burned (12) than all the burned Volts and Karmas combined (2). Combustion powered cars carry around rather flammable fuels and hundreds of thousands of cars burn every year in the US alone. In contrast, the fires involving new mass produced EVs are literally singular incidents.”

#ESTABLISHMENTFAIL: Sore Lugar: “Lugar’s conduct post-defeat is demonstrating the wisdom of the voters in retiring him.”
NANOTECHNOLOGY UPDATE: Drug-resistant cancer cells cannot resist plasmonic nanobubbles.
REGULATORY ELECTIONEERING: Insurers must credit ObamaCare when giving new round of rebates, feds say. “Health-insurance companies must tell customers who get a premium rebate this summer that the check is the result of the Obama administration’s health-care law, according to federal guidelines released Friday. The move is the latest sign the Obama administration is trying to draw attention to the law’s benefits before the fall elections, even though the law faces an uncertain future.”

PAUL RAHE: Can The American Currency Union Survive?
FRANK J. FLEMING EXPLAINS IT ALL: Our Problems Are Too Boring To Solve. “We might not mind dealing with our real problems if we could come up with fun solutions to them that involve explosions and kung-fu fighting. But there aren’t any. It’s all mind-numbing budget stuff; my eyes are glazing over just thinking about it. . . . Wait. What was I talking about? Did you hear Obama ate a dog?”
WALTER RUSSELL MEAD: Amateur Hour at the UN: Mt. Rushmore Edition. “First they wanted to ban literary classics from school curricula. Now the geniuses at the increasingly irrelevant United Nations have come up with the brilliant notion that the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People requires the return of Mount Rushmore to the Native Americans.”
JOHN HINDERAKER: The Left Is Getting Clobbered On Twitter. I credit Jim Treacher, and Breitbart’s Ghost.
WELL, THIS IS THE 21ST CENTURY: Progress In Quantum Teleportation. “Since 1997, researchers have been able to quantum teleport photons with a major record being set by researchers at the University of Science and Technology of China in Shanghai. In 2010, that team successfully teleported a photon over 16km. Now that same team has released new findings, in which they claim to have teleported photons nearly 100km, or over 60 miles.”
