WAL-MART’S CUSTOMERS running out of money? That’s not a good sign, is it?

SARAH PALIN DOES IT AGAIN:

Benefiting the Red Cross, the swag suite snagged the former vice presidential candidate for photo ops and gifting from beauty and luxury sponsors. At the Interior Illusions store in West Hollywood, Palin received jewels from Pascal Mouawad, watches by Skagen and Unite hair care products.

I’m told the oft-parodied politico donated all of her gift items back to the Silver Spoon for auction, as well as about $1,700 of her own cash, in support of multiple Red Cross efforts, including those in Haiti and Chile.

IT’S GOT TO BE BETTER THAN KEEPING UP WITH THE KARDASHIANS: A Sarah Palin reality show? I doubt it’ll beat The Girls Next Door, though . . . .

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE LOBBYIST KILLS HUSBAND: “A 45-year-old woman, charged with ending a domestic dispute by killing her 26-year-old husband of five days, is a registered lobbyist for a group fighting domestic violence.”

REMEMBER, IT’S WRONG TO DISAGREE with science.

ACCESS TO AFFORDABLE HEALTHCARE COURTESY OF THE PRIVATE SECTOR: From 200 in 2006, Retail Clinics Now Top 1,200 For First Time Ever; An Amazing 6X Increase in 3 Years. “At the same time that Congress and the President orchestrate a government takeover of America’s health care system and capture all of the media attention, a more silent revolution is taking place, as market-based alternatives like convenient, low-cost retail clinics are expanding daily, saving American consumers millions of dollars and putting Americans back in charge of their health care spending.” This must be squashed at once!

POLLS: “The more Obama talks about government takeover of medicine, the more Americans think the country is on the wrong track.”

OKAY, OKAY, EVERYBODY’S RAGGING ON ME about Al Gore’s dumb honorary degree from UT. Sorry, but the Board Of Trustees didn’t consult me on this one. If they had, I’d have said that it was a lousy move, with even more lousy timing as ClimateGate explodes to the point that even The New York Times is admitting it. But they didn’t ask, so don’t blame me. The decision was, as a great man once said, “above my pay grade.” [LATER: Reader C.J. Burch emails: “No problem. I didn’t blame you. I just figured it was the same crowd that brought Lane Kiffin on board. We knew those folk weren’t that bright any how.” Heh. They didn’t consult me about Kiffin, either . . . ]

And no, I don’t know what’s going on with Bob Corker, either.

UPDATE: Don’t have a link, but I’m told that Tea Party folks are going to visit Bob Corker’s offices across Tennessee tomorrow at 1 p.m.
