IMPLAUSIBLE TV Plot Lines.

NOT EVEN A HUG? Renee Ellmers Answers Questions, Declines to Grab Anyone’s Neck.

That’s better than her opponent, Bob “Who Are You?” Etheridge can say!

UPDATE: Reader Lane Beneke writes:

I hate to write this, but the Elmers campaign is clearly underfunded and could use your help. Please note that I am not affiliated with Mrs. Elmers or her campaign, nor have I had any discussion with them concerning this message. I am just a voter of NC District 2 that desperately wants to see a tea party candidate defeat Bob Etheridge (yes, that Bob Etheridge.)

Renee is trying to raise $5,000 by 5:00pm Friday to purchase yard signs. I am about to make my donation, but a mention on your site would assure success.

Well, I don’t know if that’s true, but lots of people were unhappy with Etheridge when that video came out, so if you want to show your displeasure in a more tangible way, here’s an opportunity.

THE REASON FOR THOSE BOGUS CLAIMS OF TEA PARTY RACISM. Insufficient empathy and diversity! “It is essentially a failure of imagination. Liberals cannot imagine themselves into a way of thinking in which conservatives do what they do and believe what they believe for good reasons. And since they cannot believe that conservatives are motivated by rational beliefs and admirable motives, they must appeal to darker, more primitive impulses to explain their behavior. The racist motive presents itself as a natural and convenient explanation.” Emphasis on the convenient.

INSTAVISION: I talk with Mark Levin about the collapse of the Welfare State, the state of the Department of Justice, and what Tea Partiers and others should do between now and November.

If you like this kind of thing, please consider subscribing to PJTV. (Bumped).

And note that Levin’s Liberty and Tyranny has sold over a million copies and is now in paperback.

TRANSPARENCY! Democrats block amendment to ensure press access to oil spill. “Media outlets such as The New York Times, Columbia Journalism Review, and NPR have written damning reports of the government’s unreasonable attempts to limit access to the spill. The New Orleans Times-Picayune was prohibited from flying a plane over the spill so a photographer could get pictures. Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla., was denied permission to take a boat out to the spill with reporters and examine the catastrophe affecting his state. The Associated Press sent a letter of protest with the White House over the arbitrary restrictions. A CBS camera crew was threatened with arrest for trying to report from a beach affected by the spill.” Duh. That’s because there is no oil spill. It’s all a cover story to keep people away from the crashed alien spaceship. Wake up, sheeple!

CRUNCH TIME: An important space vote today. More from the Space Frontier Foundation, which urges you to call your Senator to support the privatization of NASA functions. I agree. “This is a simple up/down vote. Does the US Senate want to preserve a few thousand politically important, government funded jobs for a few more years, or would it rather stimulate the creation of millions of new private sector jobs that will last into the 22nd century? “

GASSING GEESE? “Madison has a geese problem too. These filthy, vicious fowl have newly infested the area around Picnic Point. But is gassing the best solution? Shouldn’t we be eating them?” This is precisely the position taken by our Nigerian relatives who see all these annoying — but very fat — geese running around, with no one even trying to eat them.

REASON: University President Ignores Facts and His Own Life While Praising the Autonomy of Universities. “The prospect of newspapers becoming indebted to government, the very institution in greatest need of journalistic oversight, is troublesome, to say the least. . . . Bollinger, for his part, is no stranger to government abuse in higher education. As Columbia University’s president, Bollinger conspired with New York’s pseudo-public Empire State Development Corporation (ESDC) to use eminent domain to confiscate private property in a West Harlem neighborhood.”

I’M SURPRISED IT TOOK THIS LONG: War between Chamber of Commerce and White House spills into open. “The U.S. Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday rejected a request from top White House adviser Valerie Jarrett to speak at a jobs summit hosted by the business group, the latest escalation in an ongoing war between the two camps. . . . The letter did not specify which comments they were referring to, but top business leaders have spoken out with increasing frequency in recent weeks to criticize Obama’s policies, saying he has created crippling uncertainty for business because of the massive regulatory regimes being constructed by the health care and financial regulation legislation.”
