ILYA SHAPIRO: “I hereby announce that I am willing to travel anywhere at anytime to debate the constitutionality of Obamacare.”

HAPPY GREMLIN DAY!

MICHAEL YON POSTS another dispatch from Afghanistan, including this cool photo. Lots more interesting stuff at the link — and remember, he’s supported by reader donations, so if you like his work, consider hitting the tipjar.

ONE NATION, under arrest.

UPDATE: Much more here.

IAIN MURRAY: ClimateGate Whitewash. Well, when even The Guardian is unhappy. . . .

REP. TIM RYAN’S REFUSAL TO MEET WITH CONSTITUENTS HAS INSPIRED A SONG: The Ballad Of Brave Sir Ryan.

LAW DORK ON EQUALITY AND THE RULE OF LAW: “Yet again, the Department of Justice filed a brief (pdf) in a federal trial court that defends a law in place since the 1990s that imposes a restriction on lesbian, gay and bisexual people but has previously been upheld by federal courts. On Monday, it was a brief in defense of the ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ policy; this past year, it was a brief defending the Defense of Marriage Act. That this was done by the Obama administration is seen by some in the LGBT community as an abhorrent act. I disagree.”

A CHALLENGE TO A BET: From economist Don Boudreaux to ObamaCare mavens Peter Orszag and Nancy-Ann DeParle: “Pick any year in the future between 2021 and 2046. Tell me your estimate today of how much Uncle Sam will spend on health care that year. I’ll bet each of you $5,000 that Uncle Sam’s actual expenditures on health care in that year — adjusted for inflation — will be at least 25 percent higher than your estimate.” They might as well take the bet. By then, $5K will probably buy a Big Mac.

ANARCHISTS PLANNING TO infiltrate, sabotage Tea Party protests on 4/15.

Protesters are well-advised to arm themselves with portable video cameras, and document everything. It might also be a good idea, as a commenter suggests, to print out these flyers and pass on copies to local police and media, in advance.

OKAY, YESTERDAY I PRAISED OBAMA’S OFFSHORE-DRILLING PLANS, but Sarah Palin isn’t so enthused.

Likewise Dan Riehl.

UPDATE: More rain on the parade from Rick Moran: “By the time the first drop of oil makes it to market from Obama’s announcement on Wednesday, he will have been out of office for years.”

ANOTHER UPDATE: Add Moe Lane to the list of those unimpressed with the fine print on Obama’s drilling plan. “Let me put it another way: the White House is implying the promise of jam tomorrow – in reality, it’s just a study to revisit the denial of jam yesterday – in exchange for jam today. Only the jam today is actually a swarm of angry wasps. Try again, Mr. President.”
