THE EDUCATION DEBACLE of the decade.

KEYNES V. HAYEK: 1932 Redux.

BLAMING THE VICTIM: Jessica Wakeman:

Here are four prominent men who have been accused of sexual assault: former vice president Al Gore, filmmaker Roman Polanski, and football players Ben Roethlisberger and Lawrence Taylor. The accusations against each of them are so very different. But they share one commonality: each has received the benefit of the doubt — in some cases, a lot of doubt — that their accuser is a liar.

Well, it’s not like they’re Republican congressmen or anything. Of course, some accusers are liars and others are not. But who gets the benefit of the doubt depends on a lot of factors that don’t have much to do with the likelihood that they’re telling the truth.

BYRON YORK: The NASA Non-Feeding Frenzy.

From a Nexis search a few moments ago:

Total words about the NASA Muslim outreach program in the New York Times: 0.

Total words about the NASA Muslim outreach program in the Washington Post: 0.

Total words about the NASA Muslim outreach program on NBC Nightly News: 0.

Total words about the NASA Muslim outreach program on ABC World News: 0.

Total words about the NASA Muslim outreach program on CBS Evening News: 0.

If you were to receive your news from any one of these outlets, or even all of them together, and you heard about some sort of controversy involving the Obama administration redefining the space agency’s mission to feature outreach to Muslim countries, your response would be, “Huh?” Among all the news these distinguished outlets have seen fit to cover in recent days, the NASA story has not made the cut.

Doesn’t fit the narrative.

JIM TREACHER: Levi Johnston is a liar. Or so he claims. “Does this mean Kathy Griffin doesn’t want to hang out with him anymore? I think that’s what they call a motive.”

I, FOR ONE, WELCOME OUR NEW ROBOT OVERLORDS: Los Angeles Times Now Favors Rule By Robots.

But here’s the real news: “To its credit, the Los Angeles Times editorial board has chosen to acknowledge clearly and publicly that out-of-control spending, not insufficient tax revenue, is suffocating the Golden State.”

ANN ALTHOUSE ON THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT’S ARGUMENT in the Arizona immigration case: “To make it work legally, won’t they have to own pathetically weak enforcement as a deliberate and important policy? Won’t they have to be very clear that Arizona must shut up and accept the current situation? Who will get better political leverage out of this lawsuit — those who favor stronger enforcement of immigration law or those who favor leniency?”

And note this headline: Obama’s lawsuit against Arizona: Immigration is my responsibility to shirk. Heh.

DAVID HORNIK: Political Correctness Rules at Obama-Bibi Presser. “This ‘kiss and make up’ meeting accomplished what both leaders wanted: Obama shored up his pro-Israel credentials before the November elections and Netanyahu got Obama to play it his way on Israeli nukes.”

SINNING AGAINST GOD AND GAIA? Shockingly, it’s not about Al Gore.
