JEFF DUNETZ: Biden’s Dementia Was Obvious Before 2020 Election. The Media And His Staff Had To Know.
I am not angry at former President Joe Biden for covering up his mental decline. I AM angry at the press, his staff, and his family for covering it up because it was painfully honest. Even though I desperately wanted Joe Biden to lose, I sometimes felt sorry for him.
Since Biden debated Trump, the media and the White House staff have started exposing the coverup, sort of. Some said they did not realize Biden had a diminishing mental capacity—a lie. Others say they didn’t know he was beginning to lose his mental capacity until the last two years of his Presidency—another lie.
Joe Biden’s mental capacity was diminished before he won the Democratic Party nomination in June 2020.
I began to write about his affliction in June 2019 and begged his family to send him to a doctor. Below is a summary of the posts that ran on this summary from that first post up to the election. The words in italics came from the post written on the date shown at the beginning of each section.
As Charles Cooke asked in February: Which Way, American Journalist?
At this stage, the only person in America who believes that the media faithfully follows a series of neutral rules is Brian Stelter — and he’s paid to say as much.
Which is to say that my view of the affair remains exactly the same as it was in the immediate aftermath of the presidential debate that tore away the curtain: There is simply no way of looking at this “failure” that does not indict everyone involved. If the press genuinely did not know, then it is staffed by people who cannot see what is in front of their noses. If the press had suspicions but did not want to investigate them for fear that it would help Donald Trump, then it is staffed by people who are corrupt and who ought never to work again as a result. And if the press knew, but felt pressured or obliged to stay quiet about it, then we are dealing with a conspiracy of world-historic proportions. I do not know what is in Tapper and Thompson’s book, but if it is not primarily an indictment of the media — coupled with some white-hot rage at the federal government for having orchestrated such a dastardly conspiracy — then it will represent a missed opportunity. At present, the media’s approval rating is about 20 percent. If, over the next two years, the press elects to forget its complicity in the ruse and dispassionately cash in on its own failure, I suspect that its popularity will soon be pushing single digits — if that.
Those are rookie numbers. The media seem determined to punch those numbers down as far as they can.

JEFF DUNETZ: The Democrats Who Call Trump Nazi And The Reporters Who Don’t Confront Them.
What is it with those Trump-hating politicians? If they disagree with a Trump policy, say so and explain why. Why do they insist on cheapening the memory of the six million Jews who died in the Holocaust, those who survived the Holocaust torture, and the Jews who mourn the victims’ pain every day? In the rare cases when a Republican makes a similar disgusting statement, the media would be all over them like cheese on pizza. But when a Democrat spews that hatred, there’s nothing but crickets.
It used to be a basic rule of American politics never to speak of the Holocaust or any of its related terms, such as Nazis or Hitler, for political warfare. But that doesn’t matter anymore.
Anyone who says Trump, his supporters, or other Republicans is Hitler or a Nazi doesn’t care about minimizing the horrors of the Holocaust. Any reporter who doesn’t challenge that disgusting statement is just as bad.
QED: NY Times: ‘Chilling Parallels’ Between Third Reich and Trump’s Second Term.
David Segal, a feature writer for the New York Times, interviewed German-born novelist Daniel Kehlmann, who “sees chilling parallels between what happened [under Hitler] and what has unfolded since Trump’s second inauguration.”
The “Republican president = Hitler” smear has been a tired and offensive liberal trope since the Reagan Administration, unworthy of appearing in a once-prestigious newspaper. The Times headline writer wasn’t subtle:
In a Nazi-Era Filmmaker’s Compromises, a Novelist Finds Reasons to Fear
Daniel Kehlmann wrote ‘The Director’ only to realize how loudly the moral quandaries faced by G.W. Pabst would resonate today.
* * * * * * * *
At the end, Kehlmann cited his own paranoia to prove himself right that American had become a dangerously intolerant place under Trump.
“Immediately I’m thinking, can it be bad for me to say something like this to The New York Times? Which, I think, proves my point.”
How so? What’s going to happen to you? As Tom Wolfe in “The Intelligent Co-ed’s Guide to America” about a panel he was on at Princeton in 1965 when LBJ was in the White House and the topic began to focus on – see if this rings a bell – “the subject of fascism in America. Everybody was talking about police repression and the anxiety and paranoia as good folks waited for the knock on the door and the descent of the knout on the nape of the neck.”
I couldn’t make any sense out of it. I had just made a tour of the country to write a series called ‘The New Life Out There’ for New York magazine. This was the mid-1960’s. The post-World War II boom had by now pumped money into every level of the population on a scale unparalleled in any nation in history. Not only that, the folks were running wilder and freer than any people in history.

Support came from a quarter I hadn’t counted on. It was [Günter] Grass, speaking in English.
“For the past hour I have my eyes fixed on the doors here,” he said. “You talk about fascism and police repression. In Germany when I was a student, they come through those doors long ago. Here they must be very slow.”
Grass was enjoying himself for the first time all evening. He was not simply saying, “You really don’t have so much to worry about.” He was indulging his sense of the absurd. He was saying: “You American intellectuals—you want so desperately to feel besieged and persecuted!”
He sounded like Jean-François Revel, a French socialist writer who talks about one of the great unexplained phenomena of modern astronomy: namely, that the dark night of fascism is always descending in the United States and yet lands only in Europe.

JEFF DUNETZ: Where’s Moses? A Passover Question.
During the Seder, we tell the story of the Exodus from Egypt. But the Haggadah, the book that acts as the script for the Seder, only mentions Moses once. Only once? He’s the key human figure in the biblical Exodus story?
Yes, THAT Moses… Prophet, miracle deliverer, G-d’s right-hand man, mountain climber, former tennis player, and a prince of Egypt. Former tennis player? Absolutely! The Torah says Moses served in the courts of Pharaoh.
Much of the Haggadah was put together by Rabbis after the destruction of the Second Temple in Jerusalem. It was created so Jews would have a guideline for the Passover Seders and to fulfill the Torah commandment to remember that G-d took our ancestors out of Egypt with a strong hand and outstretched arm.
Before the Romans destroyed the Second Temple, animal sacrifices were a big part of the holiday ritual, as required by the Torah. But those sacrifices were only allowed at the Beit Mikdash (the Holy Temple atop the Temple Mount). Sacrifices ended with the Temple’s destruction. Well, either the destruction of the Beit Mikdash or an anticipation that PETA would be created.
By the way, nothing in the Torah or Haggadah says that after the festival ends, Jews must have a week of leftover brisket after Passover. Sadly, it happens anyway.

JEFF DUNETZ: Purim In A Year Of Hate (Video).
Hate speech and Antisemitic incidents across the world have grown to frightening levels. The holiday of Purim offers lessons about how to fight the hatred facing the Jewish world today.
On Purim, every Jew is commanded to listen to the reading of the Megillah Esther—literally, the scroll of Esther. The Megillah is a first-hand account written by Queen Esther and her cousin, Mordechai, who raised her; each is Jewish.

JEFF DUNETZ ON ANDREW BREITBART: I Still Miss My Friend And Mentor.
My goal is to try to weaponize the American people, try to weaponize the conservative movement, try to weaponize the underground conservative Hollywood movement, to weaponize as many people in the center-right country to try to rectify a generation-plus long problem that has been absolute media bias, absolute media used by the Democratic Party as a tool to defeat conservatives. –Andrew Breitbart
It’s hard to believe that Andrew Breitbart’s giant heart gave out thirteen years ago, March 1, 2012. Despite the passage of time since he passed away, the fire and passion he injected into everyone who ever had the pleasure of meeting and working with him is still burning in my heart.

NEWS YOU CAN USE: Jeff Dunetz on The Differences Between Christmas And Hanukkah: The 2024 Snarky Edition.
#2 The Jews also celebrate December 25th. Why not? We have a paid day off, too. The Jewish tradition of Christmas Day starts with going to the movies. On the 25th, there are no lines at the theater box office for the theaters playing the hot winter blockbusters because the Christians can’t go because they are with family celebrating Christmas.
After the movie theater, we make our annual Christmas pilgrimage to get Chinese food, the traditional Jewish cuisine.
It’s 2024 in the secular calendar, 4722 in the Chinese calendar, and 5785 In the Jewish calendar. Archeologists and other scientists still haven’t figured out what the Jews ordered for Chinese take-out for the first 1063 years of our existence.
In the book of Genesis, we learn that the patriarch Abraham always kept his tent flaps open. Theologians will tell you that he kept them open because he wanted to welcome people, but that’s not true. He kept the flaps open so the Chinese food delivery guy saw that he was home.

JEFF DUNETZ: The Partition Vote: When The UN Acted As An Agent Of G-D.
Seventy-seven years ago, on the 16th of Kislev in the Hebrew calendar (annually November 29 on the secular). By a vote of 33 to 13, with 10 abstentions, the United Nations passed Resolution 181, approving the partitioning of British-ruled Palestine into Jewish and Arab states (back then, Jews living in the Holy Land were called Palestinians).
It was the Zionist dream. After 1,900 years of prayer, the Jewish nation, the indigenous people of the Holy Land, could again have a sovereign state in its eternal homeland.
Despite what you might have heard, there was never an Arab state called Palestine. The Arabic tradition grew with the establishment of Islam in the early 7th century, approximately 500 years after the Jewish State of Judea was destroyed.

WHY JEWS MUST VOTE FOR TRUMP: The Lid’s Jeff Dunetz leaves no doubt about how he thinks his fellow Jewish American voters should vote in the presidential contest.
JEFF DUNETZ: Kamala Says Trump’s Like Hitler. Is He? Or Is Kamala An Idiot?
Yesterday, V.P. Harris compared President Trump to Hitler, “Donald Trump is out for unchecked power. He wants a military like Adolf Hitler had, who will be loyal to him, not our Constitution. He is unhinged, unstable, and given a second term, there would be no one to stop him from pursuing his worst impulses.”
The V.P.’s comment comparing Trump to Hitler indicates she doesn’t care about minimizing the horrors of the Holocaust or she is an imbecile incapable of understanding.
Her comments were based on a story in the leftist magazine The Atlantic reporting that Trump’s former chief of staff, Gen. John Kelly, called Trump a “fascist” and recalled his admiration for Nazi generals. Kelly also raised concerns about Trump’s recent threats to use the military against “the enemy from within.”

JEFF DUNETZ: Father’s Day Still Strange Without Dad.
When I was down in Florida just before he passed away, Dad was fighting dementia. He was desperately trying to hold on to his memory, continually reviewing everyone’s names, his kid’s names, the names of his children’s kids, the layout of our homes, etc. Incredibly, through that desperate struggle, my father kept talking and singing happily because that was my Dad.
I have two adult children, who bring me joy all the time. But celebrating Father’s Day together on Sunday can’t be as joyous as it was five years ago because my Dad won’t be there.

JEFF DUNETZ: Differences Between Christmas And Hanukkah (With Tongue Firmly In Cheek).
2. There is only one way to spell Christmas. No one can decide how to spell Chanukah. The Oxford English Dictionary shows 24 different spellings for Hanukkah (Chanucha, Chanuchah, Hanuca, Hanucka, Chanuca, Chanukah, Chanucca, Chanuccah, Chanuka, Chanukah, Chanukka, Chanukkah, Hanucah, Hanucca, Hanuccah, Hanucha, Hanuckah, Hanuka, Hanukah, Hanukka, Hanukkah, Khanukah, Khanukka, and Khanukkah). I like to use many of them–even in the same post. The reason for the spelling differences is its actual name in Hebrew is חֲנֻכָּה, and Hebrew can be transliterated into English in many ways. We also like the spelling differences because it confuses the Gentiles.
3. Christmas is a major Christian holiday. Chanukah is NOT a major Jewish holiday. Chanukkah is only a big deal in America because Jewish parents wanted their kids to brag about getting gifts like their Christian buddies for eight nights. Hanukkah isn’t mentioned in the Torah. It was created by Rabbis. Now, that’s not necessarily a bad thing, but more significant holidays like Passover, Sukkot, and Rosh Hashana, for example, were designated by God. And God outranks the rabbis, which is a fact only some rabbis agree with.
Most Christians do not get upset if you wish them a Happy Hannukah, but many Jews and atheists get upset if someone wishes them a Merry Christmas.
“Happy Holidays” is a stupid PC term. Technically, it can refer to July 4th, Thanksgiving, Groundhog Day, or Satanic Revels. If you are Jewish and somebody wishes you a Merry Christmas, grow up! It’s the thought that counts, and who knows, maybe they will buy you a Christmas present.

NEWS YOU CAN USE: Jeff Dunetz on Thanksgiving Dinner: How To Deal With a Crazy Anti-Semitic Uncle Who Ruins The Day.
I will tell my uncle it is time to let the cat out of the bag. But first, there is one thing he must first do. Help us convince nut-jobs like him ]much of the world’s” antisemitism is part of the plot to perpetuate the myth that we do not run the world. My uncle never believes that Jews are being honest, so as a person who wants to ruin Thanksgiving by bashing Jews and agreeing with everything the anti-Semitic marchers say. We agree with him, so he can’t argue.
Here’s one that will really shock my uncle: Barack Obama is actually Jewish. He converted 20 years ago because it was the only way to let him run for president). I will inform him I attended his bris. My wife even made a cheesecake.
But there is a downside. What if he doesn’t believe me? What if he doesn’t believe my stories. What if my uncle believes we have little control over world events? What if he thinks that the Jews are ancient people who survived only through their love of God and his Torah? What if he were to look at us not as world dominators but as teachers of how to love God and each other? After all, Christianity and Islam grew out of the Jewish faith.
What am I saying? Teaching people to love God and each other? That is what the chosen people mean, but no one would ever believe that!
Heh, indeed. Happy Thanksgiving!
