THE WAPO’S GOT A FEVAH, AND NEEDS TO GODWINIZE DONALD TRUMP YET AGAIN: Washington Post warns on Trump: Hitler was elected, too:

“[Y]ou don’t have to go back to history’s most famous example, Adolf Hitler, to understand that authoritarian rulers can achieve power through the ballot box,” the Post’s editorial board said Tuesday, explaining how it considers the casino tycoon’s bid for the White House a “threat to democracy.”

Add that to the Post’s back to back articles late last month, which compared Trump “to the Pope-appointed emperor Charlemagne, who ‘ordered thousands executed’ twelve centuries ago,” as Tom Blumer spotted in a post at NewsBusters, which also quoted from the piece we mentioned here as well, by “Danielle Allen, ‘a political theorist at Harvard University and a contributing columnist for The Post,’ [who] wrote that with Trump’s progress towards achieving the U.S. presidency thus far has led her to understand ‘exactly how Hitler could have come to power in Germany.’ Yeah, she went there.”

And yet, as Glenn wrote late last month, “The Germans Have Spoken: 6 ways Donald Trump is nothing like Adolf Hitler. There’s also that whole having-a-Jewish-daughter thing.”

Obviously, the Post isn’t going to let those little details slow them down.
